as in the title really… I will be using Corel X3, but am wondering what software, likeminded users "use", for the final stage of sending the data to their Plotter for cutting ?

I’ve searched for days on this.. does it depend entirely on what plotter you use ? as I’m not looking to spend much on some software for just this final process – when all the hard work will be done in Corel X3.

    appreciate any insight 😎
    thanks
    Frank.

i think it’s possible to send files direct from corel so some plotters, though i use ‘winplot V7.1’ for my summa.

Winplot will only work with Summa tho…. 😕

I was looking to get a decent second hand Rowland PNC950…
so i guess my comment about depends which plotter does come into effect…

I use corel draw to cut directly to my Roland Camm1 GX-24
Tim sometimes uses Roland cut studio but I never do I cant stand it.

ah-ha.. interesting !.. direct from Roland eh ?… out of interest in your opinion how much would you pay (if you wanted one that is :lol1: ) for a decent "used" PNC950 ?

I’ve got a good Roland CM500 surplus to requirements.

    Make me an offer. 😀

I’m a real freshman here – but with funds 😎
are you honest enough to quote an honest price ?.. are you an "honest John" ?? :lol1: 😀

I am interested BTW 😉 although I think it will probably be out of my league 😳

And if I knew what it was worth, I’d tell you. *rofl*

I really haven’t a clue and while I don’t want to give it away I wouldn’t want to rob anybody either. Does five hundred quid sound about right? If anybody knows please tell me.

We’ve had it from new, looked after it, and never had a problem. It comes with some spare blades and, if I can find it, a new cutting strip.

Honest? Me? Well, usually, but that’s not for me to say. Only others can make that judgment on me. Anyway, you’re going to have that problem with whoever you buy a used cutter from. What I can say is that you can come over and see it working and give it any test you like before deciding if it is the machine for you.

Frank, I would say that John is an honest sort of bloke, I haven’t actually met him but lots on the boards have.

Still don’t know if it is a good price for the plotter though as I have no idea about second hand plotter prices.

Martin that’s very unsound advice, I’ve heard that John is actually a 4ft midget transvestite… if you can’t trust is avatar what can you trust? 😮

The Roland CM-500 is a MIDI synthesizer module first released by Roland Corporation in 1991. Its appearance is identical to the CM-32L. The front included a volume knob,

did you mean a cx500 john with out volume knob.

anyway as i remember the cx500 was top of the range and a s/h one for 500 quid i would have said was well worth it.

Keep looking Chris. My Camm1-Pro CM500 is definitely a vinyl cutter.

Never been able to get a decent tune out of it. 😀
