So can I change the subject from Simons post to “Weirdest Job You’ve Ever Done”? Got a phone call one day from a local undertaker asking if we could design & apply some cut vinyl to a coffin! Pretty strange request but business is business so we said “Yes”. They told us they’d be in touch shortly so we could go and get the necessary measurements / details, etc. Hadn’t heard back from them in a few days and I was going off on holidays so told the guys in the office to give me ring if they needed me. Got the call one day to say the undertakers had been in touch and could I contact them as they wanted to discuss a few details with me. After an awkward conversation it turns out the girl had passed away sooner than expected and the coffin was in her home. Got the guys in the office to cut a pile of angels and butterflies in various sizes so I could choose which would be the best fit. I put on my best suit and went to the persons home where the undertakers closed the coffin and I proceeded to fit the decals. It was a white coffin with black decals. When the family came into the room they were delighted with the results and couldn’t thank me enough. Their were lots of tears and after me almost falling apart too I bailed out. It’s a day I’ll never forget and was an honour to be part of 🙂

On a brighter note we were also asked by a local horse auction if we had a really sticky material to cut into oval shapes approx 18″ wide and print numbers onto. We cut a piece of high tack and called into them to see what their plan was. Guy took me outside to the side of a field, called a horse over and proceeded to stick the sticker onto it’s side! Stuck perfect so ordered 2 stickers each of numbers 1-100. They wanted them so whenever the horses were paraded around the arena people would see what number to bid on.

Ah the joys of the sign business lol

I printed a tartan wrap for a coffin a few years back.

Coffin wrapping is morbid but very good business nowadays!
That said, I doubt I could have fitted graphics with the body actually in it. 😬

We turned a couple of Segways into roman chariots, looked pretty cool when done.
