I had a great weekend thanks, and hadn’t drank anything till I opened a bottle of wine about 3 glasses ago!

Paddled probably the hardest river of my short kayaking career yesterday and am still totally buzzing from it. We even had a group photographer as he lived nearby and had never seen anyone paddle the ridiculous looking slabs that were near his house so he walked up with us and came down taking shots all the way!

He’s meant to be dropping a cd into work next week… I hope he does!

    Hope everyone else had fun!

Well I was working most of the week-end as at the moment I prefer to work at the week-end rather than through the week and as I am a party pooper and don’t drink there’s not much chance of me drinking to much but I enjoy what I do so it#s not really like work anyway :lol1:

At least you lot went out and enjoyed yourself before logging on here, I just stay at home and log on. That’s got to be a lot sadder 😳

In fact I’m pretty sure if there was a contest for the saddest board member I would win hands down. 😥 😥 😥

had a good, but veerrrrrrrry loooooooooooooooooooooooooong fishing weekend, left home at 5am on friday to go get some nasty little crabs for bait, found a lobster and giant spider crab, so it was rude not to bring them home with me for dinner,

i then spent the majority of friday sorting out my rods etc, loading the car, and cooking and eating a lobster and monster crab (as crab cakes), then off fishing down the beach, rather uneventful night… just one 4lb bass, doing signs all day saturday, out again for more crab sat pm, then fished all night, few more smoothound (shark family) and odds and ends saw the sun rising, and a few more hourse fishing for nothing !

got home around 11am, sorted out the gear, did some artwork, fell asleep for an hour while doing artwork.. had the keyboard keys imprinted on my forehead to prove it ! watched deadliest catch on sky for about 5hrs, then went to bed for a long deserved sleep !

not everyone’s idea of a great weekend, but hey, great views, nice fresh air, get to see the sun set and rise each day, and £40 worth of high quality fresh sea bass now in my fridge (not the scabby farmed junk you buy in the supermarkets labelled as sea bass !),

    there ya go !
    😀

ps, still feel knackered though !

Hugh, I’m the sort of fisherman that throws his line in, pulls it back out and if the bait is still there, I throw it in again. If I pull it out, and the bait is gone and I don’t feel a tug, I go home. 😕

I once sat beside a mate of mine, on a jetty, sharing the same bait, using the same lines…. he caught 52 fish in the same time as it took me to catch 9 😳 I’ve not spoken to him since!! :lol1: :lol1:

I took my son fishing when he was 6, we threw the line in, pulled it back out, my son saw the bait on the hook, and raced up and down the beach screaming that he had caught his first fish. Before we could shut him up, we had this crowd of fishermen congratulating him on his first catch.

I was really embarrassed. My wife loves fishing though, so I let her take him now….. 😳
