  • Website FAQ’s Page?

Posted by Phill Fenton on February 2, 2009 at 6:36 pm

I am thinking of putting together a FAQ page for my website. The Questions I get asked time and time again include "How much is a sign? How much is it to get my van liveried? etc. etc.

Any suggestions for FAQ’s and (more importantly) witty ripostes

    😕

    How much is a sign?
How long is a piece of string. (I always use that one at least once a month 🙄

How much is an average sign?
    About an average price! 🙄

oh dear… alison might not approve 😉

Q: Thinking of Magnetics for my van as insurance wont allow it.
A: Well Magnetics can damage the paintwork more then vinyl, vinyl with patients can be removed by warming up (maybe using a kettle to lift it)

Q: Can I just buy some numbers, none of the hardware stores do them now.
A: Minimum charge is xx, how much your robbin’ bast*

    Some good material there :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

Another one of my favourites is
Q "How much is it if I pay cash?
A "The same as if you pay by cheque or credit card surely..?"

    another one is

Q "How can I keep the cost down"
    A "Make it yourself"

    or

Q "Can you do my van at the weekend as it’s in constant use during the week?
A "Certainly Sir – Weekends are double time?"

    or

Q "I need the sign in a hurry"
A "Phone me back last week and it’ll be ready for you today"

Id use that but have the reply "Are you sure you only want your sign to be average Sir?"

How much to do a van…… what van, what size, what colour, what grade. jesus

    I need a house sign …..how much:o 😕

    Well how bigs your F–in house:o 😕

How much is a boat name, see above:o 😕

They walk into a shop with 3 shelves full of T shirts folded, another load hung on a wall, and 2 outside with large letters on them saying "T shirt printing" and yet still ask….. do you print T shirts.

    😮

    The list is endless.

My shop is next to the tattoo shop and they get even more stupid questions than me,

If I have my belly button pierced will it go through my kidney,

(optical illusion poster) is that poster (made from paper) electric.
    No…
Do you mind if I touch it to make sure its not electric…

    The mind boggles. 😮 😕

I used to sell Scooters & Moped for a living, some of the questions we got asked where even worse!

    "Does it come in blue?"

…You’re sat on a blue one mate

"Do you sell PGO?" No we’re Piaggio "Well it sounds the same, don’t you sell PGO then?"

Funniest one was the time I had to explain to this girl that the 710 cap actually was just upside down (OIL)

    How long will it take?
(if you stop looking at me doing it a bit quicker)

what do i do if it peels?
    (don’t pick it )

    What guarantee do you give?
(guarantee that it wont fall off when it leaves here)

    Can you do any colour?
(Yes more than you can think of)

Will you do the design for me?
(Yes but to keep the cost down you can do it yourself)

on the stupidly cheap thread you are talking about not giving advice / encouragement to new sign makers etc, and on this thread you are telling

Q "How can I keep the cost down"
    A "Make it yourself"

make your mind up 😉 (!)

the other thread is locked, but do agree with you.

    back on topic

    Q – i want a sign?
    A – what size?
    oh normal size!

throw me a bone will you!

Q: Do you do environmentally friendly vinyl products?

A: The door is the wooden thing in the wall! 😀

    Phill

Q: Can I have some prices please?

    A: Yes 12p, £35, a pound, £6,503.47 etc

Seriously, most of the above would be good, with the answers being, for example, that things are a little less straightforward than that when pricing and why etc

But I believe the exact wording should be "throw me a fricking bone"
