  • Web link/re-direction not working

Posted by Phill Fenton on February 12, 2009 at 4:42 pm

Harry has discovered that a link from my main website to a second site that I have is not working.

I was not aware of this as it works fine when I try it. However, I suspect this is because my PC has visited the pages before whereas anyone new to the link that does not have it stored in history finds it not working.

Can I ask a few people to try the following link to see if it works (the domain name listed gets re-directed)

    http://www.safety-sign.co.uk

If this is working for you, can you then go to the following page
    http://www.therightsigns.co.uk/company/health.htm
and click on the link to the safety-sign site to see if it is working?

Any help or advise as to what could be wrong is much appreciated

    Thanks for your help everyone.

The safety sign site domain name is re-directed to pages within my main website by easyspace who are my service providors. I’ll contact them and ask why the web re-direction service is only working with some browsers.

I’ve found out what the problem is. Apparently Firefox doesn’t like the way I have coded the link from my index page to the page I have called "home.htm". I will re-do the link which should fix it.

Thank you to Harry for pointing this out. I was previously unaware of this. Now at least I know there is a problem and how to fix it
