Hi Hugh
I have 40 templates i can give you
You have to know image ready and dreamweaver , Flash
But they are not simple to edit but cool stuff.
Let me know and i will email them to you. Or post them

Hugh,
Most hosting companies now have “Click and Build” website solutions that you can get up and running with pretty quickly. The hosting company we resell for calls it “Website Tonight”.
That may be your best bet until you are ready for more features or a more customized look.
If you get stuck in the process just give a shout.

the easiest (IMO) is frontpage. Standard microsoft really.
I would suggest get a half decent template and use frontpage to edit.
Alternatively, the dreamweaver suite is a bit more advance, but you can do more fancy things.
Best to start with one page to get the ‘look’ you want, then add more as you go along.
Also, I would also say (again IMO) that the main thing, is that it is easy to read/navigate – a potential customer wont spend ages trawling through your website.

Hugh I use this http://www.v-com.com/product/Web_Easy_Pro_Home.html for all my sites. Easy as to use, and they have an agent in the UK too.
Adding a photo gallery with thumbnails is a simple task, and you’ll be up and running in the day.
Comes with templates ready to go too,

Frontpage is what I used for ours … nice and simple … just like me 😛 :lol1:

Adobe Go_live. I got our site live using this with no previous web experience. Found it straight forward enough to use.

Microsoft Notepad!
no.. to be honest I use Macromedia products Fireworks and Dreamweaver but my site is actually a database program in ASP.NET -
thanks for all the suggestions, i’m now even more confused !!!
i’m going to call a pal of mne, not spoken to him in a good while, but i remembered (today) him telling me that he would design and host me a website on his own server (something he does for a living)and then all i need to is update it with basic ftp, think i’ll call him on monday !

🙄 Maybe its a good idea Hugh as a start let someone do it for you.For future you might have more time to sit and work it out. Its not that hard depends on how you do it. I do them myself using these 4 software photoshop image ready dream weaver and flash.I’m off 2 bed now its 6am in morning lol you have a great night .

lol ! i reckon its not massively hard, but i have enough to learn right now ! have a good sleep !
i bet you a dollar you’ve not yet gone to bed !!! i reckon that you might not reply to make us think you’ve gone to bed tho !!

If you NEED to learn coding, and depending on your method of learning I would consider just diving into basic textpad stuff, take apart some websites (easy if your friend does websites) and just have a look at what the code does, that’s where all my learning from, and from the fact my website is currently unavailable, I’d totally give just messing about with stuff you don’t understand a shot. 😀

Net Objects Fusion i tend to use and its really really simple.
Also if you by your Domain and Web Space through 1&1 Internet they throw in a free copy plus lots of extra useful tools.

Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, its quite east to get round and its pretty much pure html, so unlike frontpage you can view the pages in any browser..
frontpage is designed for internet explorer but view that page in netscape on a pda or in opera or one of many other browsers out there and it all goes pear shaped
cheers kev

net objects fusion is pretty simple to use, freeparking.co.uk is cheap for domains and has a free 4 page site 😀

i would suggest Microsoft Word , then move what you have learnt to Frontpage at a later date…
Using word is very easy , just lay out your pages as you’d like them to look , no coding needed at this stage….the only bit you need to suss out then is linking (i can do this if you like ,5 min job as long as your pages are ready)….
Only problem with creating websites in word is that they end up a little slower to load once on the net compared to most others , but if your site is going to be simple then i wouldn’t worry about it…..
http://www.vistadevalle.co.uk/
site above was created in frontpage , word would have done just the same job , its only the links at the bottom that would be a bit confusing to a novice…but to be honest not hard to pick up…
The hardest bit if your not sure what your doing is to get it up to the net…
Also you obviously need some web space , or a least a domain name that can be re-directed to somebody else’s webspace……
there are loads of tutorials out there , had a quick look , and this one doesn’t look to bad http://www.learnthat.com/courses/comput … ord7.shtml
cheers , sd
