Waste Compactor recommendations
Posted by Warren Beard on July 18, 2013 at 10:25 pmHowdy folks
Read a few old threads but nothing too recent so thought I would see if there are any new recommendations out there for waste compactors. I have a 380l wheelie bin that gets overfilled, waste removal guys used to be great and allow us to empty all our small bins as well but no more so I would probably need 2 wheelie bins at least possibly 3 in busy times so thoughts a waste compactor long term would probably be a better way forward.
Anybody recommend any?
cheers

re-negotiate your waste deal Warren.
I went with a local firm to me – Haulaway, I have two of the large domestic size bins .. 360ltr I think, one is general waste, the other is mixed recycling, I pay £10 (aprx inc vat) per empty of the waste bin, it’s scheduled once a month but they always check it when passing (every wed’s) and will empty it only if it’s nye on full. I can ring up and get additional empties whenever I choose too. My mixed recycling waste bin (cardboard, paper, proper plastics, glass, aluminium etc.) is emptied free of charge … as often as I need.

I agree with Hugh, I negotiate with the local waste company, they make money out of the recyclables so it’s in their interest to collect !
I have a 360L bin for General waste which costs £7.25 per week for a weekly collection I also have a large bin (I think 420L but could be more) for Cardboard & Paper (recyclable) I pay £4 per week again collection Weekly … (all plus VAT)

I find the bigger bins are more economical i have a 1100ltr bin which costs £10 +vat per lift.

Hi Mate. Where are you from? I may be able to help you out. Are you UK based?

WE have had an Orwak 5070 twin baler/compactor for several years and empty into our skip, would be lost without it. Moving to new premises this year and are going to install and Apollo incinerator that will burn the waste from the compactor and heat our building

Now that sounds like the right machine! How reliable are they?

Bought it second hand from an auction site and used it for the last five years never had it serviced and it always works

Great. Always looking for reliable compactors to pass onto companies. Some folks buy rubbish machines and then spend way too much on maintenance.
