As For cleaning or wiping substraight or surfaces we use paper towels as for the bubles theres a lot of reasons The Way we do it here:
We Wipe the car with Alchol OR Rapidprep regaurles if its clean or not sometimes theres dirt or oils we can’t see
Then When We Lay It You Really want the vehicle cool (not real cold or real hot) to cold vinyl has troble sticking to hot vinyl get sof and have a greater chance of bubbles Secondly When You Lay Your Text Or Graphic Do Not Touch It After You Have paced it were you want it then squegge in the center and Work Your Way Out Ther You Go Give Me About Hour Or So Ill Do a Step By Step!
    hope this helps!~!!

Hmmm somet i learned was to wear as little as possible, Mike suggested stockings and suspenders, tie your hair back…..lol

no seriously, have clean workshop, something we have difficulty with because we fab plastics, metal etc in there so we wet the floor area where we are working, clean the van, panels down with soapy water, followed by a good rinse, squeege off using a window washers squeege and lay out and apply vynil

If you keep getting air bubbles i would say its the way you are squeegying, try to make sure you are pushing the bubbles out and not trapping them in the vynil…..

works for me and boy do i hate vynil !!!

    Check out http://www.nbm.com
Under the learning online workshops they have a great demo by Jay Lansburg, I believe it’s called Bubble Trouble?
I’ve been to some of Jay’s classes and he’s a big help.
    I hope this helps!

We have cotton coats that we wear to try and eliminate fluff from jumpers etc, keep all your working surfaces clean and washed down. As has already been said dont assume a vehicle/board is clean just because it looks clean. Use the right kind of cleaner, i.e an alcohol based cleaner that will remove all the grease and evaporate quickly. We use IPA for all our cleaning. As for the bubbles its probably down to application. If your new to vinyl its best to start off applying graphics wet. Rob puts everything on dry but he has been at it a while. If you apply your graphics wet them there is more chance of removing air bubbles that can form when you dont squeeggee it quite right. The link to the education site looks like it is worth checking out, I am going to have a look myself. Do you have a member in your area Tim? If you have it might be worth phoning and asking if you can spend a day with them. You’ll probably learn more that way than from the videos.
