  • Wanted – T Shirt Heat Press

Posted by Billy Lawton on November 21, 2011 at 8:27 pm

Hi there – we’ve had lots of requests for t shirt printing – so we’re investigating buying a heat press – although don’t know the best size / make to get.
Does anyone have one for sale?

    Thanks

    Billy

Stay away from the el-cheapo’s on ebay….
just got one myself (to go with my equally dodgy cutter) and had quite an ordeal with it..
They finally send me a replacement and this one is working… hurray.
If you have the time to figure it all out it is okay:
the ‘manual’ is quite a hillarious A4 sheet…… you get what you pay for 😀

Just a note about el cheapo machines… I have a t shirt press that I bought 2 years ago off ebay for £150, still working just fine…. as long as you maintain stuff it’s ok. It’s paid for itself many times over.

What kind of maintenance is involved?!? My ‘manual’ did not mention any…… 😮

My ‘cheapo’ Chinese heat press has been faultless for over 3 years in daily use……..without any ‘maintenance’. 😀

Maintenance on mine, I make sure all the nuts and screws are tightened regular, also I grease or lubricate the height/pressure adjustment post now and then to keep the swing away moving freely, and when I first got it, I opened up the electrics just to check all the connections where good.

I clean the platen once a week too, as I press dye sub tshirts which can contaminate it. Other than that she’s good apart from the magnetic timer doesnt work, but just havent got round to fixing that yet, but I will

I use mine for dye-sub as well.

I have a stretch cotton cover for the lower platen , with a piece of scrap vinyl backing to cover that which keeps it clean and I use a silicon sheet over what I press to protect the upper platen.

Different solutions for the same problems.
