  • Vinyl Square Meter Calculation for a Roll

Posted by Mike Thornley on January 24, 2018 at 6:15 pm

    Hi
Can anyone confirm what the calculation is to work out the overall square meter cost is for a 1370 x 50m roll.

Is it 1.37 x 50 divided by the roll price?

    Thanks

    Correct.

    Total sq/m is 1.37m x 50m giving 68.5 sq/m

Divide the cost by sq/m on the roll.

Keep in mind, some manufacturers give you 50 "YARDS" , NOT 50 Metres, which works out at 45.7 metres per roll.

Also bear in mind that you don’t use it by the square metre…you use it by the linear metre. I always retail all off-the-roll media as a linear rate. Don’t care if it’s 1600x1000mm or 1000x1000mm…. I’ve still used a metre of vinyl / banner etc.

I’m with you David, I sell by the linear metre, if they only need a couple of A4 stickers I’d be left with a sq mate of waste!
