The Mimaki JV3-75 model may come close enough to your figure to be worth considering. Sure, it’s more but it’s a real solvent printer and based on a proven platform. They’re about 13K US with a secondary cutter. I am sure they are available without the cutter bundled into to save a little bit of money.

I’m guessing this unit would be about 6200 pounds, without the cutter, based on my quick currency conversion.

Oh, Dave R here has the full-sized version of this unit so I am sure he can give you lots of details on the performance.

    Good luck.

The JV3 models are excellent, we have a 160S but I sometimes use that 75SP in another company. The 75 is a cracking machine but i cant remember the price. The CG-FX plotter is pretty good, but you could invest in contour cutting at a later date.

One other thing, they advertise the printer as a 750mm wide machine but it will take 800mm (+5mm margin each side)

However don’t rule out the Cadet, same printer and heads just made by roland/uniform, you might find this is a cheaper system.

One thing I have found about the JV3 & CGFX cutter system, you can do two things at once (cut and print) and some bonuses for running a twin system, however on a budget then the Cadet seems a good deal.
I have read that some cadet owners are not getting perfect cutting (1-3mm out in some threads here), I have to say that the CG-FX cuts pretty damn accurate over 2-3 metres, I was shocked for a non-sproket cutter.
We did run into some registration issues longer then that but doing 100mm square small stuff is spot on accurate.

I actually would like to see a close up of the media grips and the cutter, I want to see how many media grips it has?

Rich, what are you looking at size wise?
If its for small stuff Gerbers can be picked up fairly cheap now,
but if you are looking to do large stuff you will struggle to find something decent on your budget.

i am sure that is down to setting up my 540 is within half to quarter of a mm 95% of the time. it take time to set them up well but once done stay good over a long period.

rich i cant help thinking that there is going to be a glut of these machines with dead heads before long as the quoted price for head replacements ant good so careful with any thing pre owned.

hi richard, i had quite a response on that printer.. it is a good printer for an early one, bit of a learning curve but once mastered it is easy profit. Since I am not advertising (as it is sold now) .. it is very cheap running, particularly for banners and fascias, at times it can be vibrant but not the JV3 has much better detail for close work.
