I’ve just bought it and now waiting for it to arrive Ian. Had the demo disk for a while so have been playing about and watching the tutorials. It has been completely rewritten and to be honest from what I have seen makes the older versions of the software look really inferior.
From what I have seen the new version is more on a par with software like Signlab and Flexi. -
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I have just ordered V3 pro it as an upgrade so should arrive soon.

Yer I have version 2.95 so it’s am upgrade for me as well. Didn’t bother with Pro though Just went ahead and got VMX.
Ian, if you have just ordered Vinylmaster pro then that has a font manager which looks to work quite well.

Ill have a look thanks. I went for Pro because I don’t do any print work only cut vinyl.

Ian, is this part time or a second job for you?? Reason I ask is because I don’t have a printer and can only do cut vinyl work in-house but I do get asked for printed stuff which I will design and then send to someone for printing.
Because of that I need some of the features that aren’t available in Pro. -
Hi,
It was part time but I’m opening a shop next month so trying to sort every thing out now. I use Corel for the print work convert it to PDF then send it out to be printed, I have used people off this site and also a local printer. I’m upgrading because I don’t want to be in a situation in a years time that I have a software package that is no longer supported, and then upgrade and have to learn a new package while in full swing.

hi,
Martin has your V3 arrived yet? My order got messed up so they have only posted it this week.

Yes Ian, only took about 5 days to come which I thought was pretty good considering where it came from.
Had it about a week now so I am on a pretty steep learning curve lol

Customs have since cleared it and it should be with you anytime!

Ian, spoke to Future Corp and they apologise for the delay. Apparently the delivery guy got a blister and had to stop rowing for a day or two. He’s feeling better now and will resume rowing on Monday :lol1: :lol1:
I’m still watching the lessons, there’s flippin loads of them on the DVD, pretty much cover everything which is a great help if like me you don’t read a lot.

dam I have been watching out for a pigeon for the last week lol.

Hope the seas not too choppy for the delivery guy lol.

I am still a big fan of corel draw, , the reason I went for the one I purchased, is the amount time i could spend creating some of the built in effects, extra cost verses extra time it takes to generate per project.

I built a new PC for to use this software so I could have a clean install the demo did not like the 5000 fonts I had installed and crashed on startup every time. The old software can stay on the laptop, but as I have been waiting 2 weeks I have been using the Summa plug in for Corel and must say its very very good.

Sorry Ian but your outnumbered lol, like Graham I think it’s worth having the xpt version rather than Pro simply as a time saver if nothing else. There isn’t really a huge difference in price terms when your upgrading from any other version.
From what you have said I am guessing you have installed 5000 fonts in the windows font folder, not sure I really see the point in doing that personally even if having large numbers of fonts installed there doesn’t slow the computer down in the way it use to I would still rather have the majority of my fonts stored in a font manager.
I had the demo disk and ran it on a couple of different machines under both windows 7 64bit and windows xp 32bit. Never had a problem with it running on either machine. Both machines have more fonts than I care to think about stored on them but they are installed in a font manager which may make a difference.

Amazed, I ordered this three days ago, It arrived today from Australia ,
sent a package (next day delivery) from Glasgow to London a week ago and it has still not arrived. -
The deliver rower must know his way over now or the wind was in the correct direction

LOOKING AT VMX VINYL MASTER XPERT IS THIS ANY GOOD??
-
I have been using it for the last 4 months, It does everything you need for print and cutting, very good value for money, if in doubt download the trial and give it a try.
-
Im using the LTR VI.O (entry level ) version for the past few months and find it very good, very well priced too and they are very good for sorting out any problems when you register with them.

I have had it pretty much since it was released and as Graham says it does everything you need it to and is very good value for money.
Definitely worth downloading the trial version and having a look for yourself or if you contact them they will send you a demo CD which also has all the tutorials on it so you can see exactly what it is capable of doing.

Downloaded it installed it connected it to our valuejet only to be told I need to email support to trial this printer which I have done. It looks real nice it’s selling on a well known auction site got under £400 here in uk the top version and accepts all icc profiles so why is this software not well known flexi starts over £3k for similar features. WAsatch is a good rip too always sorts out my colour issues so may go with them ??? Still confused

3k against £400.00 is what I meant by good value, does pretty much everything the more expensive options.

I asked my wife (Elena) to put the question out in regards to vinylmaster rip/cut and I too am impressed but at the minute sticking with a rip only option because of the previous experience I have had with them.. Thanks guys for your opinions.

I just tried to import an SVG file but it shows nothing in VM3 Pro.
I know they recently introduced export for SVG so cant see why it does not import correctly. I am using an SVG from a program called Logo design studio pro as its quick and easy….well it was lol
