Thanks for that Chalkie, I went through a very uncomfortable hour unable to cut yet another last minute job.

A point to note is that the ‘computer id’ has changed, the new one starts the same but you need to give it the newly post ‘daylight saving changes’ generated one. The customer id remains the same.

Oh and the changing the clock back fix doesn’t work for long, don’t know why, used that to jump start it when it first happened but then it decided not to play with that trick.

I suspect a window has been opened for the pirates to clamber through if you get my drift.

    British summer time!
It’s been chuckin’ it down here all day and as I type this I’m sat watching the osbournes on MTV with the fire on ( feet up – beer etc ).
So much for summer though, long way to go yet.
I was ok as I’m running VMP V2.0 with windows 98, so no panic!
    cheers

Hello Signjoe,Chalkie,Ruth and any other VMP user

I spoke with Mikethesign the other day re software and he recommends
Signlab and I understand why its probably the best but I can,t afford it, also I got a demo of VMP from Grafityp yesterday and can,t stop playing w
ith it, as I,m pretty thick with comp. speak etc. it,s really great with all the tutorials
Next question! at the moment a mate of mine is in Australia where VMP comes from and he could get me a copy for less than £200 – £499 + VAT
in the UK they not to keen on this though! and I would’nt get the tech support here I’d have to email Australia – what do you think??????
I’m still learning but with this site I learn something every time I log on 😀
thank you thank you I hope I’m worthy?????

I have questioned the pricing. £500 in UK. $500 in Aus. According to Shaun of Future Corp, its all down to cost of living.

Its the same every where. eg. software and equipment is alot cheaper in the US than here.

VMP is well worth the cost. I run SL, but bought VMP, so I could show customers quickly what things would look like, in the office. They cut it in the workshop.

Pay for it in £`s, you don`t want to wait for days for a reply from Aus.

    Hi Rocket,

SignGo (made by the guys at wissen) is a great little sign program you can down load a 30 day fully functional version on their website http://www.signgo.co.uk

Give it a go before you decide what to buy

    A Question for you Joe.

I’m currently looking at friends version of VMP and I need to find out something before I buy it….

In Flexisign (lorraine you might be aware of this) there is an option before you cut to “poll size” which automatically senses where the pinch rollers are on your machine and adjusts the layout to this size. Just now I have to type in vinyl width everytime I set the plotter and if I only had to cut a small piece of vinyl it says it’s always the max size and therefore runs out of room! Even once you have sent the file to the spooler you can’t adjust the vinyl width.

Is there a way round this mate? Maybe one for Future corp….

    Cheers

    Gavin,
You just change the page size to suit whatever vinyl you’re using!
Click “layout” then “page setup” and you can set it to the piece of vinyl you’re using mate – easy!
    Cheers

    Thanks Becky,
I think you’re right for extra ££££’s it’s worth the back-up and I’m sure I will need it, you also get FutureRIP with it in UK + other goodies you may not from Oz.
Thanks also Lorraine I’ll give Signgo a try
