    Enzo,

I run a Roland off of a Desktop and having spoken to someone at Roland HQ decided against getting a stand. Basically I was told that for £150 plus, I’d be best off sticking with what I’ve got!! 😕

    I have a Roland CM24.
    I use a Keyboard/Synth “X” stand. They cost about £25.

I find running it off a desktop it seems to loose track easily and snags (havent got the space tbh).

Do you use the roller that came with it?

I know this sounds daft but have you tried raising it up on your desktop.

I found my Graphtec wasn’t performing well just placed on the desk top so I raised it about a foot. No problems since. I think it likes a little gravity on the medium on particularly the cutting side of the plotter.

Important too to keep the roller in line, square with the plotter
I have an old roller from an old plotter I used to have. It is fairly heavy so once I set it, it normally stays put. The roller that came with the Graphtec was a tiny little thing

I occasionally use the roller, it’s permanently fixed but I just pull a couple of metres off of the roll and let it run free anyway.

I just bought a Summa D60 without the stand and decided that I needed one.
My brother inlaw (a joiner) and me knocked one up in less than a hour start to finish made from 4×2 and plywood 1/2″ made to measure and its brilliant steady as a rock. Joints are interlocked and glued light and portable if I want to move it. If you want details just say so.
