A few years back I attended a 2 day vehicle wrap course with Rob in Trafford Park (I passed with flying colours – highest grades he’s ever issued I reckon), at the time there were a number of ‘standard’ sign making and vinyl application courses also available for those new to the industry. I have been trying to find a few practical courses like these for a new employee of ours however all of the courses I see online are specifically for wrapping and vehicles.

Do any of you know of suitable courses that might help. Looking for vinyl specific, walls/windows etc ideally.

“A few years back” – My dad & I did the training on Trafford Park too in April 2013 😂

Antalis does (or at least did) some training, but you have a good point I don’t know of any beginner, basic training courses – What kind of things are you looking to train them up to do?

🤣 was a good course! Best bit was the tray of sandwiches they ordered in for lunch, there was only 3 of us, had a tray each!

I’m literally looking for a course to show the real basics to be honest. I’m showing him myself but it’s a bit like teaching someone to drive, I have my quirks and because I’m confident and experienced with vinyl probably skip a few steps here and there or use different methods without even thinking and im pretty sure thats confusing him tbh.

He probably need to learn how to drive properly before I teach him how to 80mph on the motorway whilst eating a McDonalds…

Will check out antalis though, they might have something.

I’m the same with computers, I can do most things on them, but I’m a s**t teacher, I don’t have the patience😂 I think even with a training course under their belt, it’s going to take a while to get confident and find their feet.

There was a guy at the sign digital show at the NEC doing live demos on all sorts of vinyl application, from the bare bones basics to wrapping, I found it quite handy as I learnt a few little tips off him.

Don’t know if he does training as well but he’s certainly a good communicator and puts things across in a manner that even I can grasp.
