  • Vinyl Application Roller for rough surfaces. Advice please?

Posted by David Stevenson on March 7, 2019 at 12:10 am

Hi, can anyone recommend a roller / rollers that would be suitable for applying vinyl to rough surfaces like bricks, pebble dash etc. We’ve got a new material in called "roughmark" which is apparently suitable for all those horrible surface that normal vinyl won’t stick to. I’ve been looking online at rollers and they seem to vary for £45 – £185. Quite a different is price. Would be appreciated if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks

William Smiths do a range of masonry/brick application tools. http://www.williamsmith.co.uk

I don’t do a lot of masonry applications, but I have been using the Rollepro for about 12 years, maybe more.
Craig Brown of Signs Express was buying in a batch back then and offered to get me one also as I said I was wanting to buy one. Anyway, the real purpose for it back then was for the likes of rivets but works equally as well on rough surfaces like brick. I like how it handles and is pretty compact.

The ones Smiths sell are more purpose made/specific and by 3M.
the sort of narrow pizza cutter style one is for the cement areas between bricks, and the broad fat one for the face of the bricks. you should apply in that order too! i.e. cement between bricks then the brick face.
