  • Very Thin Raised Letters query

i have a customer who would like the attached Crown Logo on a shop fascia.
She would like it as raised lettering overall, height only 240mm.
My thoughts are some sections are too thin for locators or likely to snap off the crown tips as the points are only 2mm wide where they join the balls.
What would people suggest to do this in raised letter format?
thanks for any help on this.

If acrylic, it will be very delicate, if ACM not so bad.

You could place spacers in the circles but the template and drilled holes would have to be bang on,

otherwise I would put spacers in the main body close to the top and leave the points with no fixings. Should be fine if not in reach.

    Thanks Martin.
I was hoping ACM would be OK on locators.
My other idea was to cut out of 10mm foam board and double sided tape but then the edges would be white

ACM on locators is fine and would look better Stuart.

Yes and just talked to supplier who has suggested making all in one piece of silver faced ACM and putting horizantal bars in vinyl.
Have also adjusted their design a tadge to lower the baubles a little to give slightly thicker points at the join.
Think we are good to go now.
    Thanks for the advice Martin

another alternative is to cut the silhouette of the shape in 3mm clear acrylic, then cut the actual bits of the graphic in grey acrylic and glue them to the clear. then place the locators behind the grey areas.
You will be left with a more dimensional graphic with hidden locators and still see the actual spaces/depth between the bits of the graphic.

You could do the same using the clear acrylic with grey vinyl graphic face.
