  • Versacamm Stopping In Middle Of Print – help please?

    Hi Guys,

Got a problem with my Versacamm SP300. It keeps stopping in the middle of prints. Printed a banner and it only got to 34%. Printed a graphic earlier and got to 95% and just printed the same one again after shutting computer down and turning printer off and back on and it only reached 77%.

When it stops the Versaworks cogs keep spinning so it doesn’t seem to be the computer crashing. On the printer it just says Now Processing but doesn’t do anything. I have click Abort on the Veraworks and that registers and cancels instant but the machine doesn’t as it still displays now processing.

Any ideas what this could be as it is driving me crazy?

Paul, if this is a new problem it could be down to available hard disk space for the file to rip to. Does the versacamm have a hard disk installed in it and if so how much space is left on it?? Try deleting a few old files and freeing up some space. If it doesn’t have it’s own hard disk then how much space is free on your computer?? The rip will probably be set to use a percentage of the free space available on the hard disk, to little free space and problems start.

I have been through exactly the same problem with my SP540V. Here is the thread.

    https://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.p … highlight=

It was never actually resolved, but just seems to have gone away… The techies couldnt figure it out, they gave me all the software updates and spent hours on the phone with me. Worst thing was the randomness. The machine never stopped at the same point in the print, and it didnt always do it.

There might be some clues in the thread as to what exactly resolved the issue. I couldnt figure it out.

    Hi guys.

Thanks for the replys. I have transferred all my work to an external hardrive, deleted a load of old stuff and changed the printer lead. So far so good. Just finishing job no. 3 and no messing about ! 😉 happy

    Hi Paul

Not sure if this will be any help but we had problems printing from our Epson 9880 I know it’s not the same printer etc.. but our jobs kept stopping randomly as well after many weeks of pulling our hair and trying to replace as much as we could think of – the problems sorted itself once we had deleted all but the Epson printer driver, we had a few legacy drivers from different printers on our pc , after deleting all but the 9880 it sorted out the problem and has been fine since.
Just thought I would mention it just in case !!

    Best of Luck – Andy

Ive got this problem on my versacamm SP-300v today 🙁

Im thinking it because its a big banner (bigger than anything else ive printed on it so far) and the RIP is taking up too much memory. Is this likely? Ive only had it 2 months and mainly been printing stickers and clothing transfers until now.

Been pulling my hair out all afternoon , but just seen this post while searching for answers so looking possible I guess.

    Any other suggestions most welcome!!!

Managed to sort it by changing the file I was printing to a PDF instead of an EPS , worked perfectly 😀

Thanks to Leigh from Grafityp for the suggestion
