vehicle signage: Valvoline
Posted by Shane Drew on November 16, 2005 at 10:52 amThis is the job that I requested the logo for.
I had to reproduce the red Euro logo on the tailgate and GC logo from really really small web gifs, but the client was happy with the result. He has two of these vehicles, plus I did his shop.
Out of it I also got the job to do a bus.

Turned out great, Shane…those colors look fab on….whatever that vehicle is!
Love…..Jill -
Thanks Jill.
It is a dual cab ute from GM (Holden) – called a crew cab.
All the rage here, although I am not that fussed on them. They are a 4 door family ‘car’ with a tray back.
Trouble is, if you sit in the back seat, you had best be an amputee, coz there is not much leg room.

Nice job Shane, is that your washing hanging up in the back ground? 😀

Great Job Shane!
if you don’t mind me asking….
The “V” is a print, correct?
what program do you use for designing prints?
did you manually draw the Bevel, or is it a from a bevel tool?
How did you come up with the color in the center where the red and blue overlap?thanks,
steve -

steveSteve, the V is a print, I use Corel12 and 10 for all my print designs. Unable to use Illustrator or Photoshop unfortunately, been with Corel since version 3. Still not as good as stevo tho. Just don’t get the time to really play.
As far as the logo itself goes, the boys here at UKSB supplied the colour version because my client couldn’t.
The bevel was supplied in the logo, but it is just rectangles in different shades. The colours were process blue, reflex blue and red.
Normally I’d mix these colours using the transparency tool in Corel, if i was looking for an overlap of a different colour. Hope that makes sense.
Cheers

hi shane, real nice work mate. clean, sharp… just the way i like em. 😉
well done and thanks for taking the time to post your work mate. 😀 -
Thanks shane.. exactly what i wanted to know…
I use corel as well.. had 6,8 and 10, and i just got 12 last week. Can’t get used to the light colored toolbars. One of the reasons I asked is because sometimes i have a hard time with the bevel tool in corel.. too “broken Up” looking.
i try to learn photoshop and ilustrator evrey now and then, but it’s like trying to wipe my butt with a stick.. i’ll stick with what i know…
thanks againsteve
