it’s pig to work with, but i like what you’ve done, done a good few recovery trucks myself, and the worst bit is always the reflective !

Reflective is not bad to put on, but such a pain to remove , nice job Pryam
I assume you didn’t do it square by square 😀

Lynn when I am pricing a job which requires reflective I tend to offer the customer two prices one with just the reflective and one with the reflective applied over a normal vinyl.

I explain the problems involved with removing reflective and the possible damage to paintwork and obvious reduction in resale value and a lot of the time the customer will have the normal vinyl underneath so at least if that customer comes back for me to remove the graphics before he sells it or returns it to the lease company it doesn’t take me two weeks to strip !!

I agree with martin, it really is best to apply over normal vinyl. I’ve been caught out before when I agreed to remove reflective of a van I did 4or 5 years before and it was murder getting it off 😥

Have you tried a steam lance to remove it? Not tried it personally, but I heard that it works.

    Engine steam cleaners perhaps?

no it don’t, I have tried it Dave, steam doesn’t even bring normal vinyl off with any efficiency, its tuff stuff you know…

I’ve stripped buses with a wallpaper steamer and it works well with most good cast materials with the exception of yellow for some reason, but is useless with reflective.

I will not apply reflective straight to a vehicle anytime. I include the normal vinyl as a base, and don’t even give the client the option not to have it.

I always explain it is the only way to guarantee no damage to the paint when its removed. Clients agrees every time.

Nice work Pyram – just hope thats a camera illusion and not red on the front tho.

As for removing the vinyl, the monkeys near me that operate the jet wash seem to get most of it off my van.

regards the job itself, i just had another nose at it,

    i like the tagline !

the only crit i will make, if you”ll permit me ! is that the red reflective letering on the sides is a little hard to read, i think an outline would have given it clearer legibility,

I agree about the outline on the red. It does have a black outline to it which shows up better during the day but i think it needed to stand out more, maybe with a white outline around the black or something like that.
Wish i had known about putting vinyl down first 😕

Pryam, just make sure your not about when they want it stripped off !!! You may be lucky though as a lot of these companies keep the vehicles and almost drive them into the ground so they may never ask you to remove it.
