    Hey guys,

Job completed this morning. First time I’ve done any sort of with flood coating on a vehicle inside handles and recessed panels and had to wrap.

It came out rather well using Aver 900 Supercast.

The design on the side where the numbers and text were made like that because of van is damaged and in the future he wants his website address there. That’s why it was designed like this.

    Cheers
    Jason

looks good Jason but I would have the phone numbers smaller they seem to dominate a bit , you got the green in the panels nicely.

Hi Jason, not keen on that one at all mate, not 100% sure but I think it is the green colour thats putting me off. Obviously that’s not your choice so not really your fault and it is also a personal preference, I’m just not keen on that shade of green myself. I am sure there are other people that will love it.
I take it he wanted the window left on the side and not flood coated. Customers used to ask me to cover these windows to stop people seeing in a lot of the time but it looks OK as it is.

Lynn mentioned the phone numbers, I have some customers that insist on having a huge number on the side so I guess I am use to it although I do think the number on the back could be a bit smaller, numbers on the back don’t generally need to be as big as most people taking a number off the back will be fairly close and I feel that the back number needs a bit more space around it.

Other than that it looks like you have done a good job with the fitting, I might also have either centralised the green box on the front doors or ran it all the way across the door, looks a bit far back on the door to me.

Cheers for the crit Martin will only help me get better. The colours yes are the colours of the client. Busienss cards etc. The box on the doors was put where it was cause when its sunny the shadow from the mirrors could cover it. I know its not a big deal but where it is now the shadow doesn’t reach it.

The window your talking about is tinted. You can’t make out anything through that window atm.

    Cheers

Hi Jason, I agree with the crits about the phone number, customers always right though eh?!

I agree with you on the front doors though, I generally like stuff centred between the mirror and keyhole witch may put it a wee bit further forward but I know where your coming from.

    Cheers Gav,

I will only suggest to a client once about a design change. I’ve found my initial design was always best. But my clients like to change a few things to feel involved in the process. In the end they are paying for it so as long as they are happy, I’m happy.

Jason if your customer is happy that is all that matters he will pay you and you will be happy 😀

Jason, as I said before most of what we do is down to opinion so there are always going to be those that like certain things and those that don’t. At least by getting other peoples opinions it helps you to look at things from a different point of view.
Personally I don’t think it is a good idea to let customers make actual changes to a design. After all you have the experience when it comes to vehicle design not them. It’s difficult to explain on here and the important thing is to keep the customer happy and give them what they want so they will come back again and recommend you to others.

What I normally do is ask the customer a lot of questions about styles, colours likes, dislikes etc and explain to them that I will use these ideas of theirs to help design the livery, this gives them the sense that they are actually involved and when they see the design they feel they have been involved because you have worked around what they told you. They are normally very happy with the design and don’t feel they need to make any changes to be involved in the process.
