  • Vehicle Outlines by Ingram’s?

    Hi Folks,

Had a mail shot today from these people (Ingram’s) trying to sell me their CD with over 3600 outlines. Anyone out there use this Cd? If so is it any good, and how does it compare to Impact’s (think that’s the name)? Need to update my vehicle outline software as it is a bit out of date and German – so doors or on the wrong side etc! This Ingram one looks pretty good but others might have experience of it? Thanks in advance.

    Spooky.

PS I think this post qualifies as ‘Software’!

    Hi there,

I bought ingrams outlines a few years back, but found that they weren’t as good and not quite as accurate as Impact.

Some of their clipart was the same. When you tried to cut the different sections, the outlines ran over the bit you wanted. It often needed to be cleaned, trimmed and welded before you could use it.

Impact for us every time !

Thanks Cheryl, I will investigate Impact. I may be wrong but I think it costs the same as the Ingram package (approx £100)?

About that price.. also Impact is run by Brian Hayes who is a regular poster here and is the person who designs and provides the CD’s

Over the years we have used Brians designs for the majority of proofs we send out, really useful set of vehicles and always handy having him posting here as we have good contact with him.

Becoming a UKSG member of these boards will also give you a discount on the CDs they sell.

Thanks Dave, I will look into it further. Yep, I realise that I should also become a fully paid up member of these boards etc, though I tend to only make fleeting appearances, usually when I’m quiet (work wise) or bored. I can, and often do, go several months without paying a visit, but I shall join up fully soon!

Having said that, it does not mean that I shall definately put a photo of myself up on the boards, as I still like to retain an air of mystery! Nor do I wish to scare any poor children who may unwittingly wander onto these message boards! Sadley, that is something I think one or two other members should have considered before being so bold! :lol1:

I have used Ingram’s vehicle outlines for the past 5 years as they are offered by Spandex when the sales rep comes visiting and wants us to use our bonus points. I tend to find that the vehicle profiles provided on the CD are only of use for the purposes of sending out proposed layouts to customers. When it actually comes to the task of cutting and applying the graphics we always measure the areas of the vehicle in question to get accurate measurements because the profiles are not accurate.

Who supplies the Impact profiles, may try them instead?

Just click on the add on the front page for Impact.
