    Hi all,
I have a mate who helps me out from time to time with installs I can’t manage alone. He’s a professional ceramic tiler, and I lettered his van a few weeks ago with some offcuts of blue 751 – not too fancy, about 3 colours. Anyway he’s had one job come directly from the van and yesterday we were sat outside B&Q trade entrance stuffing out faces from the chippy down the road ( No diets here Mr Brown… 😉 ), when there was a knock on the van window. My mate rolls down the window and the bloke outside apologises for interrupting our lunch but explains that he’s a kitchen fitter and needs someone to do his ceramic tiling in the south west………….just shows that vehicle advertising works!
It was nice to see what a few scrap pieces of vinyl can do!
    Cheers
    joe

    Absolutley agree with you Joe.

Many is the time when I’ve been out on a job in my van that I have had enquiries as a result of my van being seen. My Record is three genuine seperate enquires in one day when I was outside working installing a shop sign.

I tell this story to all the Miserly cheapskates that whinge at the cost of getting a van lettered and remind them of the cost of advertising in a local paper. If they want value for money – Van signs are extremely cost effective.

For the small independant tradesman (plumber, painter, electrician etc.) a well designed van livery is a great advert.

The same applies to small independant signmakers. 😀

    I echo this too.

I picked up a job the other day for 6 sets of Magnetics whilst doing some window graphics.

It may be frowned upon but on one side of my van I have an excellent Mike the Sign T-shirts magnetic ‘advert’…and on the other side one in a similar vein but using different colours and graphic for Signs. This guy crosses the road to speak to me about signs, turns to head back, sees the T-shirt side and says ‘and I’ll have some of those too!’
