VEHICLE INSPECTION
Hi All, do any of you have a template of an inspection sheet. When a customer brings in a vehicle do you go over the vehicle with the customer checking for scratches dents blemishes etc as you do with a hire car. if indeed you do it at all. I have been in this game for 11 years and never done this and indeed never had any come backs until recently which is a warning.

George, I have a customer who has a hire car business, will be seeing him tomorrow and will ask him for a copy of what he uses if thats any good.
I have only had this once myself, brand new van at dealership. Dealership tried to tell customer I had marked the van because they had inspected it prior to my applying graphics.
They tried to tell the customer I had damaged it with a squeegee when I applied the graphics but had no answers when I lifted a couple of letters and the marks were under the vinyl !! -
That would be great Martin, the whole subject is a minefield and we are open to allsorts of accusations so we need to cover our own a$$es so to speak

how about your own template.
outline drawing of a van,
a key of abbreviations =a small scratch
b small thumb size dent
c etcwrite a letter on the drawing in the appropriate place.
customer signs as correct ?chris

had never thought of this, glad you mentioned it,
that said, i think the newest van i’ve done has been several months old, many of them i’m sure, use vinyl to hold the van together !

Any damage get the customer to sign it before you proceed applying anything to the vehicle.
