Vehicle Grpahics: Gadbury
Posted by Marekdlux on September 21, 2005 at 6:42 pmDid you design it from the left side? Only asking because the design runs into the door handle on the right, but probably doesn’t on the left.
Have a nice pint for a job well done. There will be less bubbles next time.

Hi Alan
nice first go, on the bonnet because it so flat I would’t really have
bothered but if your customer insisted I would have brought it nearer the front, just mho apart from that well doneLynn

Alan
just a note you have done it and everybody happy but just cos the sofwear will stretch stuff all over the place dont mean you do it i felt that it was all hard to read inc the door handel.
just as a idea take the stretch off the blue lettering on the rr and the phone no see if that helps you to read it. you had the space for that height of lettering but have not used it. try it to see. my personal limit to stretch is about 115 %.chris

nice job ! the blue is a little hard to read, but the main decal looks great, certainly alot more adventurous than my first van !

that looks great!
quick brain pick if you dont mind: how does one get the ‘auto salvage’ over the main’Gadbury’ letters? is it vinyl layerd ontop of vinyl? isthat how its done?
cheers
😀

Well Done Alan and thanks for sharing
Not bad for your first job
The only way is up!Del: Layers like this can be done using welding features that come in the more expensive software packages.
You could simply cut and lay over the top of another but that sometimes leaves the line of the other letters underneath.
Using the weld features avoids this

Nice one Alan
That’s a good job for a first go. Only crit is the blue, not a lover of those fonts, but that’s just me, one happy customer here’s to many more.

Alan, good job mate.
Everyones comments here are certainly valid, and will put you on the right track to get better. That sais, I know plenty of other 1st timers that would have been happy to do this good on the first go. Well done.
One thing to remember is the ‘negative space’ rule. The first thing most new signies want to do is use all the space, and it becomes so cramped, it gets hard to read.
As has already been said by Chris, try and avoid stretching just to fill the area. It is a good golden rule for the majority of signs you’ll do. Another golden rule is not to use all capitals in a script style.
Thanks for sharing, and keep up the good work

Exactly as Shane has said Alan, good first job but could have done with being a tad smaller to allow more white especially at the top, as for your mistake with being to far to the left and running in to the door handle it has probably worked out for the best, OK so you had to work round the handle but it has finished up fairly central on the door, if it had been more to the right to avoid the handle then it would all have been pushed to one side and IMHO would not have looked anywhere near as good.
