Thought I’d show you my first attempt at viper stripes. Not as easy as I hoped so I’ll be charging a few dollars more next time.

We did one of these last year, underestimated it on cost too. Thankfully the owner was a friend of a friend and was aware that we had two fitters there for 3 hours 🙁 , understood and paid the extra, to right too price tag on these are a little more than a C5 😮

Just noticed that the actual car in your pic is not a viper 😳 stripes are the same though 🙂

You’ve done a good job, especially trimming and tucking around the brake light.

I did a set of these on a GT40 once. Pretty scary trimming vinyl on a car worth £240,000 !

Does look really cool! How do you make sure they’re all lined up though, as it literally wraps around the whole car! 😮 As Big G says, the bit around the back lights is particularly good.

Btw Big G, Jeremy Clarkson has a GT40 🙄 Just thought I’d mention it 😀

I measure centre of car cross bonnet and boot and offset by 1″ then run 2″ masking tape right thru the centre of the car eyeing it to keep it straight. Then run your stripes against the edge of the tape and peel off after leaving you with a perfect gap. i also remove number plates to tuck stripe behind. As for trimming, don’t press to hard and use a new scalpel blade!!!

    😉

    Nice job nd,
I know how long it can take, specialy something with a body kit. done quite a few,
Just a tip, It that works for me and may save you some time in the future,
cut the stripes together, apply app tape. mark the centre of the stripes with pencil, or even cut a 1mm strip down the middle. use a string to mark the centre of the car from end to end, line up with the marks and use masking tape too hold the stripes in position. apply as normal.

Yeah, doing a MINI today with vipers. I’m going to pre-cut and space the stripes. BMW charge anything from £270 – £450 to fit these kind of stripes.

neil, how did you get on with the mini viper stripes?
I did one today, another tommorrow for bmw dealer.
Took me longer than normal, the mini had a black grill, instead of the usual chrome so had to do the grill as well, cos it looked odd without the stripes.

Did you make up the stripes yourself or were they the BMW official ones?
