Looks great Carrie, how did you go about the recess on the side panels ?
I assume the black/yellow stripes are reflective on the rear ?…. pity that the colour kind of clashes with the rest of the design, couldn’t they have had reflective white/blue or red instead !
Are the “square” logos supplied by the customer ? I personally don’t like using these freeby stickers but I know the customer often seems to want to use them if they as free ๐Ÿ™„

    Good work anyway !

Nigel, the customer specifically requested black yellow on rear … they are contractors for a couple of large electricity companies who apparently insist on this???? so yellow & black it was. Square logos were supplied by customer, they always look odd & out of place just stuck on in sticker format don’t they .. but again, customers choice ๐Ÿ˜€

    Hi Carrie
What can I say.. Excellent work all in.
Itโ€™s a big van to letter and it appears you have done very well. ๐Ÿ˜›

My constructive critisism here is just constructive and as said before, โ€œits all very well me sitting here picking at bits and pieces once the job is doneโ€ but these are purely from my armchair point of view.

    The words โ€œGloucester contractsโ€
I would maybe have closed the gap a little between the words. Maybe even make the space between the words the same as the space between the logo and words. โ€œ3 equal spacesโ€

The blue and red band I would have maybe took that all the way to the front lights,

The text โ€œGRP supplies etcโ€ in the middle band of van I would have centralised it.

All in, the design works well and the company name/logo hits you at an instant.
the design has obviously been done with the recesses in mind, which is always a good thing with vehicles like this.

i am taking it steve did the fitting on this one or you both.. reason i say is if it was him aone it would not have been easy with those size of graphics.

thanks for taking the time to post, great stuff… ๐Ÿ˜€

๐Ÿ˜† Dewi what did you think we did apart from chat on here till all sorts of hours ???? ๐Ÿ˜†

Nigel, we can only advise customers on whats best, we’ve had some terrible ones to do, where the colours completely clash but the customer wont have it any other way … makes me cringe and bite my lip when it comes to the final fitting … ๐Ÿ˜ฎ one to mention was a red van with blue text ….. his logo colour was blue … looked fine on the business card as I agreed … but on a red van … he was pleased as punch after the fitting … I just smiled politely wondering if it was just me ๐Ÿ˜€

Nik, steve was up on the ladder tressle table thingy. Im 5’4 and steves about 5’7 he’s short like Rob ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† Sorry Rob ๐Ÿ˜‰ Im only teasing!!!!! Wouldn’t have minded having a go but at the moment we are really busy, which is great but on the other hand I dip out on Steve showing/learning me how to apply etc. I want to be more hands on instead of just mostly running the background areas.

Rob, good points, thanks for your comments …… Im going to be bothered by the spacing between the logo everytime I drive past now ……. Ill be tortured … and will have to resort to more jammie dodgers to ease it when I get into work!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Steve did all the fitting by himself, he’s getting quite good now I must say!! He’s found which techniques work for him and now he whizzes through most jobs. He just has to put up with me now over his shoulder … constantly asking this & that ๐Ÿ˜†

    Carrie-n-Steve…
    I like it.
Like Rob sez, mebbe tighten up that spacing
between Gloucester & Contracting a wee bit.
But all in all, a nice clean job.
    I mean, you’ve just had a baby & all,
I give you credit for even being able
to get a shower in the morning!

All reflective as requested by customer …….. Ive tried doing a search on this question …… why would it not be allowed ……. ??? Would appreciate knowing if its not or if it is ….. Now I really am going to demolish the packet of jammie dodgers worrying that we’ve done something we shouldnt???? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ oooeeerrrr!

Big-G knows more about the reflectives than i do, he worked on many jobs involving reflectives including Police car kits etc.. so dont take my word as gospel here…

we did several vans with black reflective on the rear asked for by a councils ‘roads department’ a while back (?)

anyway.. the black reflects a sort of white in the night. and white is not allowed to be illuminated on the rear of any vehicle. ๐Ÿ™„

ok so i dont think my reply has helped matters much. i should read up on this i think. ๐Ÿ˜•

Ooooeererrrrrrrr Rob!!!!!!! You probably are right?

What a nightmare. Is there information anywhere on this sort of thing?? Searched the net but nothing comes up except for road traffic signage that black cannot be reflective on an already reflective backing. ……..*munch munch munch* ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Any reflective marking on a vehicle is treated as a lamp. As black reflective reflects white, this is therefore only allowed where the direction of travel permits. ie The front of a vehicle (I think you can get away with using it on the sides, seeing as the old bill do it) by the same logic reversing lights are white, are on the back of the vehicle but they only come on when the vehicle is moving backwards.
