  • Vehicle Graphics: Drill Stickers

Posted by Shane Drew on October 19, 2005 at 11:06 am

The $3mil drill was almost not worth worrying about, some rego stickers on the rig. Took me 45 minutes to drive there and 10 minutes to do.

The Ford was for a good client who wanted something ‘outstanding’ but not too ‘different’ as he is very conservative. He asked me to remove the bonnet graphic in the end as he thought it was ‘over the top’.

Pity, it looked rather striking I thought.

😛 😛 this is the baby drill too peter. I do its bigger brother next month.

They use this to drill the dynamite holes in the mines in far nth queensland. The climate controlled operators room consists of the leather chair with the console attached to it, He can spin 300 deg and everything swivels with him. Comes complete with microwave and fridge, so he can be self sufficient in the middle of the paddock.

They ship them out from germany and then modify them here for the aussie conditions (and Union Rules). Takes them about 3 months to turn them around before the mines can use them

I’m told you need deep pockets 😮

They tell me “If you have to worry about the price of a new drill bit, you shouldn’t have purchased the drill in the first place!”

Sorry Shane, what I meant to say 3 posts ago was:
I really like the vehicle graphics. It’s a shame the customer took off the ones on the bonnet. Oh well, at least he let you put it on there so we could see how it looked.

if it makes you feel better john, the forcast is for 4 days of thunderstorms here from tomorrow 😥 … and I have 3 days of outdside jobs 👿

Our summer storms are legendary unfortunately. Last week a freak storm passed over and pelted my dads car with hail. The damage was upsetting for my dad. The insurance company had so many phones calls it overloaded their switchboard.

Oh well, the down side of living in paradise 🙄

Hi Shane, I don’t think there is such a place as Paradise, we spent 5 weeks in Malaysia traveling from Kuala Lumpa all the way through the tea plantations heading north to Thailand stopping off at the most beautiful islands of Penang & Langkowi. This we thought was paradise, but look what happened a couple of years later, all that beautiful coastline wrecked by that Tsunami, all those thousands of very friendly people gone.

We have been to Florida 5 times in recent years also thought that was paradise but look what happens to them, seems to be one Hurricane after another.

I agree 100% mate, but Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast is considered ‘paradise’ by those that live and holiday here. Just like other tourist centres tho, I am sure nobody thinks it will happen to them… until it does of course.

There are very strong rumours that the Gold Coast will be targetted by terrorists in the not too distant future. They have a large muslim tourist base there now. You can’t let it rule your life tho I suppose. Life goes on. It may, of course, never happen, be it natural disasters or man made human misery.

Yes John. Because I am out so often, I am not fussed about people calling in to home if I’m not there.

Funny thing tho, I get a lot of business on my web site from all areas of the united states, especially texas. Must be a Waterford there too.

William street Waterford is the street address.

On google earth you’ll see a shopping centre at Waterford near a big man made lake. We are the street away from that toward the Logan river.

It really is a small world now isn’t it 😛

I was amazed to see how good of a photo they got of my street. Some areas of California (Staples Center in Los Angeles for example) you can see people walking on the street.

I work at 6 in the morning so only about 15 minutes. It takes about 20-25 to get home in the afternoon. (usually 25 when I stop for some beer).
Dave, I’m a few houses down from the red truck, same side of the road.

Your right John. Only way I find me is follow the M1 up from the coast.

Have not looked for a while, so can not give you the cordinates, sorry.

This is the storm I was telling you about. Just started a few minutes ago,

In the picture, I’m in Logan. We are on the leading edge. Just had news flashes that damaging hail is expected, and I can not get my new vito undercover at the moment 😥 Oh well, what are insurance companies for anyway. Only good thing is that Logan is not in the ‘hail belt’ usually. Time will tell I suppose
