I was interested in Signlab 7.1 at the Signshow for the additions they have made with the print & cut facilities. One which got my attention was the idea they had for the window film. I think that they’ve been looking at a few of the posts on this site from Rob and others.
Heres another one l did last year.

All credit to Rob, but signlab have had Photocut in the program for years.
Now they have advanced it a bit, and it can now be combined with print.

i agree peter, they musta had it about 8 years now… but from what i could see “at a glance” on the stand… was just your regular 2mm stripes but leaving a bit in the centre to halo an image?
as you know the photocut is a scanning process of the image recrated by thick and thin lines giving a picture image if veiwed from distance.
    what got me though was….
the biggest benifit from the lines is that because they run verticle, it allows rain water to run down the window were controvison catches the water in its cells and makes rear window vision impossible in the rain.
the windows i saw being demoed on signlabs stand had horizontal lines which i found a bit odd?

having said all that, i bet there has been dozens maybe even hundreds of folk around the globe using this method to make up this sorta thing. im sure i am way down the line anyway.

now where is my sketched plans on “self applying, bubble free vinyl” better get a copyright 😮 :lol1: :lol1:

Rob the guys from signlab are good at their job, Programming. They do leave a bit to be desired on the practical side though! The poor cadlink chap was struggling to apply the window graphic wet.

Even thats been done before Rob, well not quite, I seem to remember a vinyl that had tiny grooves in the adhesive, and tiny “squashable” balls to make it a bubble free application! Dont think it worked, or we would all be using it now!
