Damm fine job, well done! How long did that take Rich.

ps. What the hell are those chocolate fountains all about :-?, if ever I’ve seen a 5 minute wonder it’s those. They were on telly this morning as the next gadget people will buy and not use after a couple of goes.

Christ sake don’t tell your customer that though, well maybe after hes paid you.

    Hi All,
I saw one of these chocolate fountains outside a thorntons shop in the Metrocentre, they were dunking fudge or mashmallows and selling them for about £1.20 each. There was a long queue – tasted delicious. The van looks good too.

    Cheers John

Yes it is more of an event thing than a gimmicky gadget for the home.

i used mactac 9800 on the lower I’m hoping that the vinyl will not pop out due to the swage lines not being that deep and very smooth i hope any way !!

when fitting the vinyl went it to the recesses very well i did not have to heat vinyl but after i did heat very well

i did a few transits for a company 3 years ago going right through the side at an angle used mac tac 9800 and the vans still look great today no popping at all so fingers crossed
the print work was on wrap material

    Hi rich
Very nice job mate, well done!

Don’t worry about the 9800 pulling from those recesses; it will be fine, especially as you have went over it with a heat gun. There wasn’t any need for the wrap material on the image either… again it will be fine… I used 9800 for many years before switching to oracal and used it on far more demanding recesses than that and still it worked spot on. So I am sure all will be good.

I like the idea of the padded mat for working on, nice one… if I have allot of vinyl work on the lower sections of a van I some how still manage to fit it standing up! 😳 :lol1:
Nah, seriously though ill just cut a bit about 6’x 2’ of thick cardboard from our correx delivery box/packaging plank my backside on that. Your idea looks far better though…

    Constructive crit:
On the sides I would have carried the colours flowing along the lower section onto the front wing “after” the wheel arch. And also before the wheel arch at the back… carrying that around the back to meet the other side of the van.
I would have used a silver shadow on the “name” because the back shadow is merging with the brown and closing up the letters. Silver on silver would be subtle but enough to give the effect of the name casting a shadow…
On the rear I would have reduced the web address to only cover the orange section as opposed to crossing the doors and the printed image.

All in all the van design works well for the type of thing its is promoting, well done and thank you for taking the time to post your work.

Yes, i was wondering if you would take them off, or should i say alter the "Graphic Designers" work, funny how they always think they know best.

    Hi Rich
Whats a pc 60 is that a dye-sub printer, what make is that? Do you have to laminate that as well? A smaller printer for smaller work sounds ideal and less expensive than investing in a large format. Well i couldnt afford one anyway just yet to be honest, that would have to be outsourced.

pc60 is a thermal printer and is so expensive to run !
i use frog juice to laminate which comes in spray cans

most of the time its cheaper for me to sub it out

I’m glad you mentioned "Frog juice" Richard, I was wondering who might be interested in a full box of 12 cans. I don’t need them now that i have a laminator. Make me an offer if your interested.
