Nice looking livery. I especially like the ‘swoosh’.
Just a quick question: Do you have any concerns when lettering over the window rubbers that it’ll detach prematurely / lift ? I tend to avoid going onto the rubber at all costs.

    Hi David

Usually I wouldn’t go over the window seals but had to otherwise the lettering wouldn’t work correctly. I cleaned the rubbers with Rapid Remover, then Rapid-Tac, and finally Isopropanol. I completely removed all the grime and that sort of oxidised coating you get on it – ie, no matter how hard you rubbed it no black residue came off (if that makes sense), only then did I apply the vinyl.

Makes perfect sense! The few times I’ve HAD to do it, (insistent boy-racers) I cleaned it up with meths & a lot of ‘elbow grease’, then masked & clear lacquered (solvent spray paint type), this bonded really well with the rubber. Then applied vinyl and gently 🙄 warmed. But I did slice through at the glass/rubber join as I didn’t want muck ingressing from the underside and blowing the vinyl off. No idea how long it lasted as the cars are usually crashed or re-sprayed long before the vinyl would fall off! :lol1:
