Vectorizing Artwork and logos, advice please?
Posted by James Boden on July 31, 2018 at 1:08 pmHiya,
Just wondering if anyone knows of the best software to vectorize low-quality images. I use illustrator but never found the trace tool that useful for the lower quality images. Outsourcing a lot of logos atm and would prefer to keep it in-house  .
Thanks
James

Hi
I have found a company that offer the service to convert bitmap to vector.
It is an online service, you buy credits.
For the cost I have found them a great service and a timesaver for us and their fee per image to me is a bargain.
See what you think -
Sorry just seen the last line of your message. I don’t think any software will ever be as good as an actual person

We use Signlab… 10/10 very straightforward and fast. :smiles:

See what you thinkLooks almost too cheap to be true. How often do you pay the 4.50? and not an extra cost because its bad quality (hence why we are sending it anyway). Can you send over just bitap fonts?

Unique art services for us.
We’ve sent them all sorts, from logos to an entire menu to recreate 😆
Cheap as chips, quality, and saves us the time doing it.

Hi, thanks for the replies.
Think there’s a bit of confusion as the Subject line was modified by admin.
I’m looking for the best tracing software on the market for dealing with low res images. I currently use unique art service and can’t knock them but looking to deal with this in-house.

In house I prefer corel over all other programs, each has their points but Corel ticks most boxes for me

Corel or signlab for us.
But we only trace simple logo etc, anything harder we just farm out. £6 – £10 a logo is worth trying to do it yourself if it takes you an hour. In an hour we can make more money doing what we do that trying to save a few pounds. If the customer can’t provide the right file they pay for it anyway… Or should do! -
Here is a trick i use once in a while, sometimes I am looking for a vector of a logo from a company that has been using it for a few years but nobody seems to know how to get it to me.
I do a google search with the company name and ad .pdf to it, on occasion I find a few documents that are used by them to inform their customers like a menu, or job application etc.
I then save it to my computer and open it in illustrator, the fonts might not match but like magic I do find the occasional vector logo on the page and copy and paste as needed.

Unique art services too, service and files are great. As long as your charging your customer for artwork and have a sensible lead time it should be profitable to send it out and use your time for other profitable activities.
