I have some signs to quote for and one is making me scratch my head a bit.

There for a Beauty Salon above a small local shopping mall in an area frequented by the local Youths. Not a grafitti ridden hell hole but this particular sign although in public view is at the foot of the stairs where the kids tend to hang around and hence I’ve got visions of itchy fingers – scratchy vinyl!

Thinking of a Clear Perspex panel with graphics behind but any materials or ideas to consider would be welcome.

I should point out that we’re not talking big budgets here!

I think your suggestion of the clear perspex is the way I’d do it Martin.
The only other things I can think of is to mask & spray it or do it regular and overlaminate with anti-graffiti film, or if it’s not too big you could have it engraved or laser etched.
    Cheers

…or, buy an aluminium plate, cover the face in vinyl to colour, then cut a stencil on your plotter – apply it, aerosol paint through it, remove it and then (when the paints dry) cover in clear vinyl or frog juice…
