Not posted in here for a long time, we did a couple of vehicles last week that had a bit of colour so i thought i’d post them.
The Cheers van (rear) is not to my liking, we had a good design for the rear doors but the customer wanted a picture of the pub.

They look stunning – well done. 😀

An excellent combination of part wrapping, digital print and cut and cut vinyl.

Looks good. What vinyl are you using for the digital?

We used the Mactac Bubble Free for the print.
I wrapped the rear of my van with it about 8-12 months ago and it has never moved a muscle. The recesses on these vans are similar to my vivaro so i decided to use the same product since it has never moved on mine.
I like the Mactac product, its very nice to work with.

Do you find you can see the bubble free in the finish after you’ve applied it? Kind of like the vinyl has dimples?

On close inspection after post heating you can, that said vehicles are not like a business card. We view them from a distance in general, the final finish of the bubble free doesn’t worry me at all.
Does this finish happen on all other bubble free products?

I was just asking because I did the mactac applicator course and I found the mactac bubble free to do this and it gives it a matt-ish finish due to the light not reflecting off it properly.

The avery and arlon bubble free I’ve used doesn’t do this. I can’t comment on other brands.

It isn’t a major thing I just wanted to know if they have changed their bubble free pattern or if its still the same.

It’s a good product to apply.

    Jason….
How did you find the Mactac compared to the Avery product?
I haven’t had a dabble with it as yet.

I found the Avery EZ RS 1005 the easiest vinyl to work with. The slide ability etc its great to work with when your beginning.

But once you get the nack of applying vinyl I don’t see much difference in terms of mactac, arlon and avery in the bubble free cast ranges. I’m yet to have the opportunity to use 3M or oracal films as of yet so can’t comment on them.

The arlon is a bit more aggressive then the other two but they have a reputation of making more aggressive adhesives that stay put.

When I was learning to wrap we were using the mactac which was very forgiving to a novice like me. I’d have no problems telling people to use it.

I guess our usage at the moment comes down to the price point our suppliers offer us.

Anyways not to sidetrack from your job it looks great and the prints are vibrant as well. Keep us up to date if you have any other projects I always like to know any problems people encounter with whichever films they are using.
