Steave dont take this the wrong way but your to cheep
for that amount of work id be after £350
very nice job I like the set square did you draw that up from scratch or was it clip.

A bit of constructive I dont think it neaded the second name as big
looks a bit crouded and if your intension was a water mark effect could the smaller text have gone below the trim line just a thought.

Great to see your work it inspires mutch needed ideas in my own designs.

So would I Neil in London village, but out here in the real world 😆 people won’t pay that much, geography has a lot to do with pricing, how much is a plumber in London, £50-60 an hour? here they are £15-£25, as to putting the name below the trim line, well it would get covered in crap and stay that way 8 months of the year around here 😆 😆
The square is from Signlab clipart.

    Hi mate,

    nice work 🙂

A few questions, if you don’t mind 😳

I presume the “Carpenter & Joiner” text is cut in to the “Mark Skinner” name, not laid on top? If the black outline of the white text is butted up to the silver “Mark Skinner” text I presume you’re not expecting any shrinkage to be a problem.

Similar question regarding the text over the square, the text looks as though it’s overlaying the grey vinyl, if so this will obviously make raised parts on the top vinyl where it covers the background vinyl.

I hope these don’t seem like silly questions but as I am self taught i’m never sure how near to a “perfect” job is normal. i.e. is it accepted that vinyl over a background vinyl causes raised parts to the top vinyl or vinyl butted up to other vinyl may shrink slightly or are these seen as vinyl no-no’s?

Hope the questions make sense 😀

    Cheers,

    Gareth

it was done in Signlab using the overlay weld command, stops you getting ‘orrible white lines when the vinyl shrinks and yes the other stuff was overlayed over other vinyl but as there was only a bit I wasn’t that bothered, OK some people say you should not do it and on a signboard I wouldn’t but this is a van and they are treated really badly and honestly it’s not worth the extra hassle trying to get them to fit. This sort of work the guy is on your case wanting his van back, he was 2 hours late delivering it and started ringing after 3 wanting it back. 😡

    Great stuff again Steve
In fact if I was going to signwrite in traditional brushwork I would follow pretty much what you have on your panel

Plumbers! How much do they cost in London?

Called one out to fix my washing machine just two weeks ago
    He spent 3/4 hr
Didn’t replace anything and it cost me £40
About what I expected – I thought that was very reasonable

Window cleaners can earn £25 – 40 an hour doing terraced houses
