van graphics: nottingham trade frames
Posted by Karl Williams on May 31, 2008 at 10:06 pmDid this this afternoon. Basic but clear. My only gripe is the tel no should have been bigger but the customer insisted on this size.

Nice job Karl, I think the customer was right in keeping the number the size it is though……… 😀

Thanks Neil.
Your probably right mate, I just think with the logo being so big the number looks lost. I’m probably just being picky. -
nice job done karl, the customer was correct, too big would have killed the layout, the only constructive crits. i have are the spacing in between the lines, (ie; telephone numbers on doors & side panels) would read better more closer together 😀

And I thought I was being picky 😀 Spose a few mill closer wouldn’t have hurt. thanks Nick. 😉

looks good Karl. I think you’re being a bit hard on yourself mate.
I personally think that the numbers are scaled just right.
Your clients ‘brand’ stands out well. The numbers are ancillary. As has been said, if the number was bigger it would take away from the ‘brand’, and wouldn’t look nears as tidy.

Appreciate that mate. The client is changing the entire corporate image of the business. In the past he’s used many sign firms each coming up with different ideas and giving different views on the image of the firm. He’s now happy with the image and is sticking with it. There’s another 3 vans to do yet…..1 sprinter and 2 vitos. This is the kind of client I like. Straight to the point and pays on time and he knows alot of people which could turn out well for us. 😉

I like it Karl.
Not sure about your parking abilities though 😀

Looks good. Nice & clear.
Agree with Niks crits about line spacing…but if you and customer were happy at the end result that’s what counts.
I know it’s a minor thing…and probably nothing to do with you – but seeing Upvc has always bugged me. Either uPVC or even UPVC look better IMHO. (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride).
Why have PVC then suddenly go all lower case…makes no sense.

I thought it was a UK thing 😉 its uPVC here, as is ePVC (expanded foam PVC or fPVC) 🙂

Nice job.
But I agree with Nik and David…and your customer.
A phone number should never have more prominence than the company name/logo.
I see that done all too often and it ruins the look of the layout.
Love…..Jill
(It’s just PVC here) -
Nice job Karl,
You can beat yourself up all day whether it’s right or wrong. The main thing is that it’s fitted perfectly and hopefully your customer is happy. I notice you have no logo on the bonnet. I suppose with that design it might not look right.
I come out in a rash if i work weekends. :lol1:Cheers

Hello Ewan. No mate he didn’t want the logo on the bonnet.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. -
Looks good. Thanks for showing it. Is that digital or 3 color vinyl?

It’s digital Karen. I normally do most work nowadays this way as I think it’s much quicker.

Hi Karl
Looks good mate!
Do you print & cut the lettering as well or did you get the closest match in cut vinyl?
Either way it looks good to me.
We seem to print/cut/laminate more lettering these days to match peoples artwork. I am also finding my colour range of vinyl shrinking by the week as we do more printed work and are not replacing quite so many colours.
Kind regards
Alex

Alex,
Yes the lettering was printed and cut. I needed to match the colours to the logo and all their leaflets and brochures.
