    Hi everyone,
i’m normally a bit shy about showing my work but my customer is so extatic with his new van that i thought i would let you all see what can be done with Mactac 9800 pro series vinyl. The van is on a three year lease and my customer didn’t want the cost of spraying it black and green then in three years time spraying it white again.

nice job Ewan..i actually seen one of those vans today…it was the budget windscreens that caught my eye especially with the layout being slanted and colour choice …..so the desgin has done its job 😀

cons crits: ‘we come to you’ font doesnt read as well cause of font choice and location, the back is a bit too big, but thats my personal preference all in all the van stands out really well 😉

very nice work mate… i too like the colours. very distinctive.
you look like you have done a good job hiding the (almost impossible to hide door crack, door hinge, wheel arch etc tell tale signs of the orginal colour showing.) im guessing you patched these bits? good job regardless… 😉

constructive crit: i am not keen on the yellow dots and other the the company name ide have dropped all text about 20% in size. thats just my design opinion of course… still a very nice job 😀

Thanks again Robert, all together it took me two days to wrap and another half day to put the decals on. the wheel arches are wrapped right under until the metalwork stops and all doors wrapped right round but i did add small filler bits here and there, but not much. The back doors have a big rubber between them so they were okay. The only cheat was the rear door hinges, i sprayed them black 😳
I know what you are saying about the design but the customer had the final say and i have been round the block too many times to get into a big debate about it with him. It is his van after all and his money and he has to drive it every day not me. For all the compromises i am still really happy with it.I think apple green and black is a great combo.

ahhh you got me… it was the hinges that had me thinking 😉
yeh i know what you mean… its the old one at the end of the day. we do what we are told or we don’t get paid. :lol1: i did one only yesterday…
it was a Italian something or other… van was pretty normal all over other than the rear… they wanted trvi fountain… wrapped on rear.
    see image below…

i enjoy wrapping stuff like this… i don’t enjoy a full wrap as its too long, i get bored and getting proper money for them is a task. but part wraps i do like as money is good and they aren’t too time consuming.
    :lol1:

the rear had windows so i had no option but to slit/cut around to expose some white. ide rather that than it popping in a few weeks.

I like that Robert. You did the right thing with the windows and no matter how careful you are there is always a small bit if white showing.I know what you mean about the full wraps, i will not do it for any less than four figures. The preparation is the boring bit for me, stripping of bodywork and cleaning. It can be very difficult to keep your concentration for two days when the phones ringing all the time and you have staff to organize.
I think it is a great service to offer contract lease van people because they don’t want to go to all the hassle and expense of spray painting a van twice.

    cheers

Nice job. Must have been really hard to do, especially the roof.

Good one. Whatever anyone thinks about the small details of the design, it is certainly a memorable and noticeable van, and that’s what matters to the bloke paying the bill. I like it.

    Nice job Ewan.

I know that 9800, and vinyl generally, is improving all the time, but I don’t think I would be brave enough to use it on a full wrap.
