I was bored so decided to come into work to re-do my van signs. I used Corel Photopaint to produce a highlighted 3d effect on the lettering. This was printed and cut out on my Cadet and applied without laminating. (This is an experiment to see how well it lasts without a laminate protection).

    Looks nice and clean Phill!
Constructive crit, I would have liked to see a thin white or yellow outline between the red and the black.
    The 3D looks fab!

I really like how it fits on the back panel. Nice one Phill.
BTW, on the small picture of your van is there another smaller picture of your van and then another smaller picture of your van going on for infinity? 😀 😉

    Nice effects Phill,
I’m glad you’re actually doing a test on unlaminated prints. Be sure to keep us posted on the durability.

    Thanks for the feedback.

You’re right Jill – now that you’ve told me I can see that it would benefit from a white border line to pick out the lettering and stop it merging with the outline – why couldn’t I see that for myself. Now I’m going to have to peel it all off and start again 😳

The van picture on the back of the van was taken some time ago and originaly it didn’t have a picture of the van in the picture – but when I looked again today I noticed it did have – and so on into infinity… (must’ve slipped in from a parallel universe) 😮

The UK signgroup logo was downloaded from the site a few years ago when I first joined. The site has changed a lot since then and I don’t think this download section exists any more. I keep forgetting it’s there but my customers are well impressed by it (much better than the guild of master craftsmen – or even ISOpish9000) 🙂

    :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: yip…. i now have beer all over my new laptop, thank you :lol1: :lol1:

i think the new version of the design looks really good mate. even the old one was nice clean and sharp. looked good.
ill be very interested to see how you get on with durability…

before i forget.. there will be new “full colour” badges for uksg members to download very soon. they are actually ready but john Simpson got back to me and let me know the colours looked a little washed out when printed so i decided to hold fire one loading the new ones.that was some time ago… so ill make a point on tweaking the opacity on the logo.

nice phill print & cut just what the printer is made for – i would have had the side SIGNS further away from the edge of the panel thou.

i dont laminate my own car stuff and lasts very well (ecosol) but i know that if i dont laminate a customers they will be back in no time at all – strange that.
