As posted here before I had a bit bother last year with the likes of Millenium Media, Advanced Publications etc., telling me that I had agreed to advertising I had not. As a result I signed up to a few websites to watch out for future scams.

I have been sent this link that I hope some of you find usefull.

Alison answered the phone to one of these scammers today.

He began by introducing himself as from Lothian & Borders police. Usual sales talk stuff "How are you today, how’s business etc." After a few moments Alison became suspicious and asked if he was a policeman. He said he was from the community support team and they were trying to spread the word about anti bullying, drugs and so on. When Alison asked him "what is it you want?" – he suddenly hung up. Number was with held – and we never found out the purpose of the call. I suspect it would have been one of the books, policemans diaries or wall planner scams.

They make me mad these people. They’ve been doing it for as long as I’ve been in business and have been getting away with it for years.

You’d think with all the over legislation our useless government have put in place over the years they would have been able to stamp on these crooks 🙄

most of the scams are nothing to do with the government of the time.
we must all be aware that these scams exist and not blame anyone other than the scammers.

I’m blaming the government for being too incompetent to do anything about it 😕

Well the government have done their best so far by criminalising smokers for example – yup, they’ve certainly got their priorities right 😕

Talk about cooking the books – they have invented a whole new range of criminal offences :shake:

well lets face it, next to politics and religion, tobacco companies kill more people than drugs and alcohol put together, so it is a bit criminal in my mind.

    😀
