  • Used Ecosol Cartridges – What to do with them?

Posted by Tim Knight on July 18, 2006 at 1:29 am

Has anybody got an idea what to do with them.
I asked our local supplier and they are not sure.
probably landfill or printer cartridge place to take them away.
does anybody need some or is there a company that takes them back.
I dont want any money for them, just not a good idea for landfill.
Surely Roland should have some scheme money or no money to take them back.
    we have 80+ at present

    thanks

giving them back is a pretty good idea actually, wonder if they can be used again by them? cant think why not as long as the bag inside hasnt burst.

    I got on to http://www.Plantark.com
    email: admin@planetark.org

I saw the ad on TV and emailed them, within 15mins I had a response.
They will send out a box with bags for us to put all cartridges in
they them recycle them into plastic wood for what ever.
so good idea for these cartridges. its a free service. need to use more than 3 cartridges of any sort a month. would do that easily.

    anyway info for everybody

I though I read in a mag that Print One or at least one of the 3rd party ink suppliers recycled the cartridges.

There is generally at least 20-25ml left in the carts and from time to time , we use a large syringe to suck out the remaining ink and inject it into one cart , often get an almost full cart. It’s a messy process and you run the risk of puncturing the bladder of the nearly full one. Not sure of the environmental ramifications , but we dispose of spent carts via the guy that collects and recycles all our brass , metal and perspex/plastic scrap.
