Universal light boxes
Hi All
I have just had a quote from the above for a light box. Not a big one but I had the same sized light box from them on 2 separate occasions last year and this one is to be situated in between the 2 existing ones.Last year I paid £172 + Carriage both times. Now I know that prices have increased but now they want £247(over 40% increase!) + Carriage(which has also gone up) 😮
I personally think they are having my pants down so I rang to ask them to check the price. I was met with a rather remiss response saying oh we might have offered a discount last year, but in the next breath said that they wouldn’t on this occasion.
I don’t want to dwell on this too much but are there any other light box manufacturers which use a similar system to that of Universal as I don’t want it to stick out like a sore thumb between the 2 existing light boxes by being different. If not I will just have to pass on the cost to the customer, but would rather not use Universal with an attitude like that if I can help it.
Any help appreciated.

I think the Alutrade ones are fairly similar.

Then there’s the exorbitant carriage charges.I think they’re living in the past and relying on what was once a good name IMHO.

When I dealt with them last year they weren’t that much more expensive but the quality was better than that I had been using.
But the response I have had this time around has been appalling, like you say inflexible, arrogant, holier than thou etc etc.
Will give Alutrade a call now.

No probs – they can play their stuck up game all they like but they won’t have many customers at this rate.

I Have been buying light boxes from universal for 5 years but now i only use alutrade, prices are the best i can find on the market and the quality of their light boxes is good too.

Lightboxes from alutrade are well built, and well priced, quoted returned rapid. Built, packaged and dispatched quickly. No probs so far…………
