Hi,
I have not heard anyone praising the Rockhopper and all B&P will do effectively is to change the ink to solvent. I think you would do better to go for Cadet or Versacamm

We are looking to get into digital market and are checking out our options. So what is the opinion on the Rockhopper then and how does it compare to Cadet and Versacamm?

Hi again,
The Rockhopper is a bit wider than the 30" Versacamm, but I would suggest you give serious consideration to a 54" printer or print and cut,
reasons are you can then print large enough for 8’x4′ boards in 1 piece, you can also print banner at 1m wide or even wider if needed. if you want to do any wrapping you really need 54" to be sure of covering most panels.
The Versacamm will be easier on maintenance, the solvent machines work better the more work they do, lack of work means more time cleaning and replacing pipes and pumps as the solvent ink will crystallise in the pipes if the machine stands idle for too long.
The general consensus seems to be that if you are using print on vehicles then it needs to be laminated, so whatever the salesmen tell you about how much better the solvent ink is, if you are laminating there is no noticable advantage, so weigh up your expected usage against maintenance and upkeep.Frank

I’d check out the new Mutoh Valuejet range. Excellent value, and has the new Interweave Printing feature, so you get no banding.
I’ve got a pdf brochure but cant attach it here

I’m going to go stand in the corner was talking about the wrong machine 😳 ,
the machine is a Rocky 38 which i run whilst i get my soljet up and runningPlus points
Prints well with OEM inks
Can be left without cloggingBad points
media odd ball width(not much about at correct size)
Profiles thin on the groundObviously can’t comment on the B&P version, has Drew stated Valuejet is now out which is again an entry level printer, which i believe will eventually replace the Rocky 38 model. Most of the rips with the Mutoh printers are raster only so check whats on offer.

The valuejet here is being sold with onyx RIP.
A good entry level machine though.
