    The sheeter looks ok,
but I noticed that all the weeding done was with rounded fonts, I would like to see something like this demonstrared or tested properly before buying.

Wow, I want one, especially the sheeter, that would save me so much time and effort. Not sure about the weeder as I could see myself getting in a pickle with that especially if I accidentally lost a few letters on the roll as it was weeding..

The price looks good, but add shipping and distributor profit then it may not be such a bargain.
there must be something similar available in the uk, especially the sheeter.
    Peter.

I made my own version of the sheeter years ago, using a rubber wheeled mangle. Worked brilliant. It was a great thing to have if you have a large quantity to tape up, and could also be used to flood coat rigid panels with vinyl.

I have serious doubts about the weeder though.

Looks good. The ‘Sheeter’ looks the better investment. $698 = £394.65 plus shipping plus £69.06 VAT. Could still be worth it.

I have asked about shipping cost’s to the UK. Waiting for an answer.

The sheeter does look good for larger stuff 😀 That woman makes it look soooo easy!!! ….. I also have my doubts about the weeder, don’t think it would be something we would go for 😕

Have you ever cut vinyl and found the blade pressure should have been a bit higher? I doubt that it could cope with that. I do remember seeing a weeding machine shown at sign UK by Andersons (I think) years ago. Don’t think they ever sold one. How will it cope with small letters and script letters joined by very thin lines?

Who is the woman in the video?
    Where does she live?
    Whats her name?
    Is she single?
Not sure about the weeder though.

I spoke to the manufacturer who owns a sign shop in the US. He was very nice and said he would stand behind the products and said if I wasn’t satisfied with them I would be able to return them.

The video of the weeder does show it weeding small serif type, the big drawback I see is that if all of your graphics are surrounded by a border you will have to still weed that manually as you do for the insides of the letters.

I was more interested in the sheeter but I am waiting to see if the ezy taper is available in the US.

I would be happy to call the owner again if anyone has any more questions.
If enough people are interested maybe he can arrange an oversea shipment.

If I do decide to purchase this I will let you know what I think

I noticed the rounded fonts too Peter! It was the first thing I commented on when I saw it. But in agreement with most of you here, I think the sheeter looks good!

I’ve read up on this on another site/thread and they both get high praise from all that use them. I think most people just have the Sheeter though.
I’ll keep paying my niece with candy to help me weed.

Lets club together and buy one of each then get someone to copy it 😀
It can’t be that difficult, just seems to be rollers.

And besides guys 🙁 this dude has come up against a problem has designed a way to overcome it (with all the hassle and time that entails) and seems to have come up with the goods.
It’s a bit low to suggest that you buy one and rip the guy off. You’re all saying what a great thing it is, well give credit where credit is due and if you want one then buy one. It’s obviously not much money and you’ll pay for it with 3 jobs.
The dude sounds just like us. Hard working. Striving. Come up with a good idea and BANG some bustard RIPS HIM OFF.
    How would you like it?
Please treat others how you would like and expect to be treated.
Also this is an international forum that from what I see and read is well respected in the sign trade around the world. One of the reasons it’s so popular, I would imagine (IMHO) is that we ARE so helpfull to each other.
So do the guy a favour and if you like what he’s done – buy it ‘cos that’s what it’s about.
    No?
    Scoz. :lol1:

    Calm down Scoz

Nobody is seriously considering ripping the guy off, we were just engaging in some playful banter hence the smilies

    Yeh I know. 😳

I guess I just realised what a part of my life this forum has become ( Check it over breakfast and before Tea) and I was dissapointed that folk would be suggesting that.

I’ve got off the horse and he’s having a brew now so all is cool.

Just venting people. Had a tough few days. Sorry.

Nothing to see here, move along please. 😳

You too? 😳 I am worse than you tho mate, I have it running in the background whilst I work at night. I am still on here at midnight some nights. I know, I must get a life 😳

I am a little suspect of the weeder too. I know someone that has something similar, and when it stuffs up, it really stuffs up. Only any good for a large run tho from what he tells me. One of those ideas that seemed great at the time, but now I think he only ever usues it to premask his signs.

    Good price tho.

    Cheers

Nice Idea, anyone noticed that they both seem to be based on the same moldings, frame etc.
I priced up having some silicon coated rollers made, 1.3m wide, prices ranged from £250 – £600 EACH, that makes this a good price as a finished machine even at only 24″ wide.

You could try the idea of the weeder by using a plastic rule, one person holding the rule and another pulling the wast vinyl off and back, sorry just getting a bit ambitious there 🙂

i vote like most of you, the premasker could be very useful, assuming you have room behind the end of your bench….. i dont !

the weeder looks great in princple, but much of the club stickers etc i do, could be done in it, but i dread to think how it would cope with something like ff gold, which has litle pointy corners to the letters, even when the machine is cutting and set dead right, they still tend to pull when small,

good principles tho, i occasionally lay a wide aluminium ruler on the decal if it’s proving hard to weed, or to pull the mask of and retain all lettering ! never thought to use it like that,

The sheeter idea is good – we tend to use our laminator loaded with application tape. Tend to cut and weed the days work first thing and then feed it all through in a continuous sheet, cutting and separating it off after. Does save time though!

Good idea if it works, I just use a old bit of foam board and pull the weed back on top that, keeps it all out of the way!
