  • Typical price to fully colour change / wrap.

I’m just after a typical price to advise a customer that their expectation of a fully colour changed / wrapped LWB medium high top transit for a grand was unrealistic.

At present it’s a grey 08…and they want it fuchsia pink with a load of text.
Livery to last 18 months to two years before removal.

I’ve suggested about £2.5k to get it done as a ball park…too high…too low…just right?

Hi Dave, I think that’s a very good price, very competitive, I would have gone in at just shy of £3K. Anything less and it’s not worth the time and effort.

Let us know how you get on?

some will say its high but i recon its in at what "should" be charged.
what you might be up against is freelance wrappers that charge something like £200 a day to wrap only… they will eat a lwb properly in two days and then the cost of the meterage of vinyl on top…

this is how "they" price it as they are needing to fill their weeks work and i cant blame them but i think they sorely under value their expertise but when out on their own they get desperate i think.

do not get involved… i did to part wrap lwbs "but printed"… and charged around £1300 each. the guy walked initially laughing he could get it done elsewhere easily but returned 2 months later and said go ahead. we did another for him just recently.
if your product and service is 100% and you back it 100% charge what you want or walk away.

I’ve just been sent photos of the vehicle from the potential customer – and to be honest – from the images doing a colour wrap in either a high quality cast or a self-coloured wrap looks well within my capabilities as there really isn’t any areas that overly concern me – it being almost flat with no sections that scream ‘wrapping nightmare’. Then doing a livery on top…as printing a shockingly vibrant pink (Digital TV) isn’t the Cadet’s forte.

Also looks like a MWB…but that’s no big deal.

Also – is it ‘usual’ to do the top of the roof…having never really looked on top on many wrapped vans before…

Now, I’ve not done a full vehicle wrap, but have done large wide panels in and out of (nasty deep & textured) sprinter recesses, wheel arches, bonnets etc. so I’m not really intimidated. And like Rob says – I’ll stand by it 100% once it’s done.

Thanks for the price advice…and time estimation. I’d though 10-12 hours so not far off.

    Dave

i really would advise you to tell the customer to drop it off first thing one day and you will return to them, or pick it back up on the third morning first thing. i know it looks easy but these things, specially doing your first take longer than you think. take your time and get it right.
