Tsunami
Posted by Marcella Ross on December 30, 2004 at 3:16 pmI’ve been watching the coverage of the Tsunami disaster on tv since boxing day. This is the saddest and most horrific thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I hope that none of you guys out there have lost any friends or relatives, if so I send my sincere condolences.
Something like this makes you stop and think. Maybe our New Year resolutions shoud be to live life to the full, to spend more time with our loved ones, to stop moaning about trivial things and to appreciate all that we have.
My heart goes out to all that are affected.Marcella.

Totally agree with your sentiments. It’s hard to comprehend that the loss of life can amount to a small town in the UK.
Perhaps we take life to much for granted. I know one thing, I will not moan about our weather again.

I agree, it is just terrible.
What a horrific thing for those affected to have to endure.
Could you imagine how devastating it would be?
I will keep this region in my prayers.

This is also a good place to donate, 99p in the pound will get to the people who need it. all the big help organisations are using this for donations
Its just such a shame that goverments dont spend as much on helping the innocent victims of disasters as the do waging futile wars

As a group should I think we should make a donation to the relief fund.
I will start it off with £500
Who’s next?
Rob, can we send the cheques to you?

Its better if you donate direct, no disrespect but thats the quickest way to help

Hi Peter,
You are right, these people need help, and they need it now.
It’s just that we are here on this group to help each other and to some extent to help ourselves, it would just be ‘nice’ (no personal gratification needed/wanted because as the death toll rises, I feel more and more upset each time) but it would be nice to know that we did something as a team to help those who really need it.
Even if group members anonymously (some how) logged how much had been donated then we could all be aware of the good that had been done.
As I’ve said – £500 from me.
Everyone, please dontate what you can afford to.

Mark,
as individuals and a group I believe that we all want to help in whatever way we can, if everybody in the uk was able to be as generous as you, then that would go a very long way. Im sure that uksb as a group will do there bit.

You’re right guys. Just think of it a a xmas pressie you forgot to buy, and donate the money to help.
It just shows how fragile life is. It certainly puts everything into perspective and makes you thankful for what you have.Marcella

I think all of the major charities are taking donations for this cause. You know what to do….we are a very lucky nation to avoid major catastrophes like this. I don’t like to preach but if ever our mates on the other side of the world needed our help, this is it.
