  • Trying to source cut to size polycarbonate?

Posted by Martin Pearson on April 30, 2012 at 12:48 pm

As the heading, can anyone recommend a good supplier of cut to size outdoor polycarbonate. Can only seem to find full sheet prices from usual suppliers & as I only need about half sheet cut into little squares might be better to buy it in already cut.

    Hi Martin

I had a smallish piece of acrylic cut to shape as a one off by
    King’s Plastics in Bristol.

It was ages ago so don’t have contact details to hand
but might be worth a phone call.

    Cheers

Thanks so far guys, Neil, have you actually used them? Found them on the net this morning & they looked reasonable but always unsure with people I haven’t dealt with before.

No Martin – haven’t used them myself. I have the link stored for future reference and may have got it here – I’m not sure.

Kevin, spoke to RHG before posting, they only sell by the full sheet & although I need quite a few small squares it amounts to less than half a sheet in total. The chances of me ever using the other half of the sheet are slim to none so can’t justify the expense.
Amari, didn’t think to phone them to be honest but I would imagine they work the same way as RHG.

I have used these for acrylic which seemed well priced and a good fast service.
    they also do polycarbonate.

Thanks for the help people, customer changed their mind in the end because they felt it was to expensive.

Stuart, have you used the second company you mentioned? Had a look just out of interest & their prices for cut to size were ridiculous, don’t know if I made a mistake, don’t think I did but for what I wanted the other companies I tried all worked out at about the same price, they were more than 8 times more expensive.

How about stockline plastics or rightons – both sell polycarb cut to size.

Stockline sells part sheets / righton only full 3x2m.

….but righton is about half the price.

Good to hear some feedback on them Stuart. They have been in touch with me in the past and was about to add the same web link: http://www.sheetplastics.co.uk/

One more for your list to check out Martin, GFG Plastics. Not sure how they compare price wise to others but I have used them before and found them to be helpfull and the prices seemed ok.
