Truly AMAZING hand painted sign
Posted by Gert du Preez on January 17, 2011 at 7:19 pmJust back from my December holidays. ( Started work today 🙁 )
In Northern Namibia, on the banks of the Kunene River, (on the Angolan border) I came across this gem.
I just had to share it with my fellow professionals on this forum!
In this area ( too wild for even Chuck Norris to go there) this is par for the course 😮
Enjoy….

That’s one of Jills
I’d recognize her style anywhere 😀
Notice the use of negative space!!!

I was waiting for you to say that.
Yes I lettered that after downing a 5th of gin.
😳
Love…..Jill -
Maybe if hey used comic sans it would have turned out better

At least it is not in Comic Sans 🙄
Wonder what they have for toilet paper in the loo….
Just joking. The truly amazing thing about living in a 3rd world country is the relative ease of transition between the stupidly primitive and the most modern high tech. You see many mud and cattle dung huts with solar panels and satellite TV, or the poorest cattleherder wearing animal skins with a brand new high tech Nokia against the ear.
People often ask me where I would go if I had to leave Namibia. My immediate answer is Botswana, Zambia, Angola, Tanzania, Gabon…..
I have never in my life entertained the idea that life can be better in Europe or Australia (unlike most White South Africans….)
Anyhoow, this gave me a great idea for exploring my country with the Government contributing 40% of the cost. I go around (on a "company paid trip") and sponsor decent signs for these "upliftment projects" – Fully tax deductible, and I score a couple of free nights at each site!
And the taxman indirectly contribute 40cents for every Dollar I spend.
Now there is something I can get used to 😀

Glasgow hasn’t changed much since I was there then. 😀 😀
