I am trying to Print out a 4ft X 80Ft banner…the files is around 2 to 2.5 Gigs…I was built in Illustrator 12…I had them make a PDF and Eps file of the original Illustrator file(file is 1/5th the original size)…I went to rip file in Postershop 6.5 and it opened preflight up, I told it what material, size I wanted it and everything else that was needed to be done in preflight..then it error-ed out:
error message was: %%[height to large: reduce by factors of 2]%%
    %%[error checklimit:offending command @ showpage]%%

I am not sure what that means…Did I have designer prepare file the right way..if not, could anybody give me some pointer on how to fix this problem…

    Thanks,
    Josh Steenbergen

    Josh
at a guess i would say Poster shop has a preset roll length & your design is outside of those dimensions. Just my thoughts, i would be curious as to how long it takes a 2.5 gig file to rip.

I already changed the presets for material roll..thought of that when the error poped up the first time…

    thanks for the thought though

sounds like a memory problem in your printer Josh.

I had a similar problem with my Roland some time back.

The roland rep told me to send my file at 25% of actual size, and let the rip do the muliplication by 400% at ripping.

Never had a problem since, except when I forget and tried to RIP a big file again.

The error message seems to indicate it wants it at 50% size to the rip?

I rip 1.5gb files but any bigger and I have to go the reduction route.

    Hope that helps.
