  • Transparent banner is there such a thing?

Posted by Tim Painter on March 14, 2005 at 11:10 am

I have a client who dose not wish to block to much light from there window.

They wish to hang a sign wich they can replace as and when a new promo is required.

Does a transparent type of banner exist which can have cut vinyl applied.

My only other ideas is acrylic. Corst is as usual an issue.

    Any ideas much appreciatted.
    Tim.

You could put satic cling clear on first and then vinyl over the top.

That way it would be easy to remove

How big does the sign need to be?

To be honest, this sounds like a no money more hassle than its worth type of job…

You could go printed mesh banner. or best bet cheaper window vinyl graphics

Just a thought, but what about printed backlit banner?

Although it would be opaque it would still ‘trasmit’ a fair amout of light into the room.

Yes, it is possible to create a banner in clear pvc. It is usually more expensive than standard banner pvc tho.

    What about using clear coroplast?

    You go, girl!
That is a great idea, clear Correx, with grommets added.
I was gonna suggest clear plex with translucent vinyl,
but that would be pricey & might get damaged peeling off the old ads.

B&Q do a cheap styrene that is clear. I think they come in 8’x2′ sheets. They sell it for replacement green house windows. I think it may scratch easily so test it first.
