Train, drive through and tear banner, advice please?
See link to video – we have been asked to produce a banner for exactly the same thing a train arriving to tear through a banner.
I am thinking a heavy weight poster paper as the client wants it to tear, I think PVC banner material would not tear and would just pull, which might cause a problem or two…This is a potential new client…. they did say have you done this before??? Has anyone else produced a banner for a train to drive through?
Any thoughts please

How about poster paper and making your own perf cuts vertically at the point where the train hits it. This will tear far more easily, last thing you want is it hitting and pulling it out of the holders hands.

I would simply make the banner in two halves and join it together with velcro

You may want to get some advice from companies selling banners local to me. they appear to have the knack of providing banners that tear very easily… 😉

That stuff is really tough. If you do a small nick in banner vinyl you can tear it across the weave. You can’t do that with mesh. If hemming a large mesh banner, we hem in sections and cut i to the hem, it never tears.

amazing ill be honest iver never actually tried to tear mesh banner was just a thought i might start using it more if its that tough :smiles:
